FoxTale CoverUp Matte Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA++++ Review

I received a couple of Foxtale products in a PR package last month and have finally got a chance to try out their mattifying Sunscreen. I am pretty impressed with the texture of the sunscreen and have found it good for regular use. Let’s head straight to the Foxtale Sunscreen Review.

Packaging, Texture and Fragrance

Foxtale Matte Sunscreen is housed in sleek pump-up packaging with a dispenser. Nonetheless, the packaging is easy to use and super travel-friendly. Sunscreen has a lotion consistency with a soft texture and gel-cream feel. The colour is white and has little fragrance. The fragrance is only noticeable once you dispense the sunscreen and fades away in a couple of moments after applying.

My experience with Foxtale Matte Sunscreen

Foxtale MatteSunscreen is a chemical sunscreen with the following chemical sunscreen filters

  • Ethylhexyl Triazone
  • Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine
  • Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate

The fact that it doesn’t contain any physical sunscreen agents and hence the sunscreen gives zero cast. This makes it apt for people who are worried about a white cast. This product is specially formulated to be a lightweight, effective and mattifying sunscreen.

The product is lotion-type in consistency and is very convenient to spread across and blend into the skin. Blending this sunscreen is super duper easy and one can even apply a sufficient quantity in a jiffy. Just be sure to use a sufficient amount of quantity as per the three-finger technique. Foxtale sunscreen feels hydrating to the skin without any heavy feel. I never felt the need to use any moisturizer before using this sunscreen, so I haven’t tested the sunscreen with a moisturizer. However, I did use a salicylic acid serum and it works just fine.

Even after using the three-finger technique, it neither felt heavy nor does it leave any greasy or oily residue on my oily acne-prone skin. It truly is a lightweight sunscreen in the Indian market. The sunscreen doesn’t irritate the eye area at all. I have used it on my upper eyelids too and there is no irritation whatsoever!

Finally speaking about the summers ahead, one may find the need to reapply the sunscreen whenever one sweats or comes in contact with water. I don’t experience any sweating when I am at home after applying this sunscreen. However, when I use a mask and head outside it does sweat a bit and needs reapplication. The reapplication part of the sunscreen is pretty convenient due to the texture. One can wash off the previous sunscreen and use it again or just reapply on previously applied sunscreen. Still, it doesn’t feel heavy after reapplication.

The sunscreen can be easily removed using an oil based cleanser or a good foaming cleanser. I use Foxtale cleanser and find that it feels good to use a foaming cleanser instead of double cleansing.

Pros

  • Oil free, mattifying and lightweight formulation
  • Chemical sunscreen formulation with chemical sunscreen agents
  • Blends into the skin very effortlessly
  • It doesn’t give any white cast, oily or greasy feeling
  • Perfect for oily or combination skin without a moisturizer
  • Doesn’t irritate the eye area or doesn’t make the eyes water when applied near the eyes
  • Works well without moisturizer or serum for oily skin
  • Doesn’t clog pores or give any acne
  • Contains UVA and UVB filters to provide broad-spectrum protection
  • Suitable for normal and dry skin with moisturizer beneath
  • Can be easily removed with double cleansing or even just with a foaming cleanser

Cons

  • Some may experience sweating especially in the hot afternoons in the summers

Foxtale Matte Sunscreen Review

Foxtale Matte Sunscreen is an oil-free, chemical sunscreen that blends into the skin quickly and provides broad-spectrum protection of SPF 50+ PA++++. It gives a hydrating effect with a semi-matte finish with its lightweight formulation. Moreover, it doesn’t clog pores or cause any acne for my oily and acne-prone skin. The fact that it doesn’t irritate the eyes and can be removed easily with any oil-based cleanser or foaming cleanser makes it a good one to be used daily. It is a good oil free sunscreen for oily skin in India. Do give it a try if you have oily acne prone skin.
