Professional Career
Shevchenko won over 50 combined amateur and professional bouts in K-1, Muay Thai, and kickboxing between 2003 and 2015. Against Debby Urkens (WFCA) in 2008 and Cong Wang in 2015, she suffered her first and second kickboxing defeats, respectively.
In 2015, Shevchenko competed in the IFMA world championships and the IFMA Royal World Cup, and she came away with a total of eight gold medals.
At the age of 15, Shevchenko competed in her first MMA match at the Kyrgiz Federation of Kulatuu on April 21, 2003, losing to Eliza Aidaralieva. By technical knockout in the second round, she was declared the winner.
The next 6th fights she had were all first-round finishes, and she went undefeated in those before she decided to take a break from mixed martial arts in 2006 to focus on Muay Thai and kickboxing.
On September 30, 2010, at C3 Fights in Concho, Oklahoma, she returned to active competition and made her U.S. debut against future UFC title contender Liz Carmouche.
Shevchenko continued to compete in amateur Muay Thai bouts during her year-long break from the sport after she successfully bounced back from her loss by defeating A Jarkyn Baiturbaeva via unanimous decision the following year.
In 2013, she returned to the ring under the Fusion FC banner of a South American mixed martial arts promotion and won back-to-back fights by technical knockout.
Shevchenko made her professional boxing debut on May 8, 2010, against the more experienced Brazilian fighter Halanna dos Santos at Coliseo Marotta in Callao, Peru. The panel of experts unanimously decided that she was the best of the bunch.
Shevchenko fought from a classic kickboxing posture and employed Muay Thai techniques and grappling tactics several times without being punished by the referee, who reportedly received numerous objections from her opponent.
