A Little Ray of Sunshine: Our Simple Tips for Staying Positive

We recently sent a newsletter to our Love, Georgie email subscribers to update shoppers on production and shipping times, as well as share a few resources we've found useful over the past month. If you're interested, you can take a look at the newsletter here.

We noticed a lot of interest in an article we included called "Silver linings: how to stay positive during the coronavirus crisis." You can read that article it here. The interest in staying positive gave us the idea to create a follow-up blog focusing on simple things you can do to start April on an optimistic note.

We hope this adds a little sunshine to your month.

PS - We are so thankful for everyone who ordered gifts for Mother's Day, graduation, or just a general pick-me-up last week. We know the past month has been economically difficult for many individuals and businesses (Love, Georgie included), and just want you to know that we really appreciate the support from those of you who are able to give it!

A little ray of sunshine

We're all facing a lot of uncharted territory right now. Working from home, setting up online learning for kids, postponing travel and big plans for the year, economic uncertainty...the list goes on.

It's our hope that adding one or two of these simple ideas to each day can help you equip yourself to meet this month's challenges.

Spend time outside.

It may have gotten buried in all the chaos, but spring is officially here! Each day brings a few more minutes of daylight and warmer temperatures. If you live in an area where it's safe to do so, try to spend a little time outside each day. Whether it's enjoying your morning coffee with the sunrise, eating dinner in the back yard, or just taking a break from work to step outside, spending a little time in nature can have a calming effect.

Connect "face to face," virtually.

Are you embracing your inner hermit while working from home? It's a nice break to rock messy hair and sweatpants for a few days but it can get old fast if you're used to a professional workplace routine. Consider switching your next meeting from a phone call to a video conference. Getting ready like you would for a day in the office and seeing your coworkers can have a positive impact on your mood and productivity!

Replace social media time with FaceTime.

Group texts and checking in on Social Media can help you stay connected, but you might be surprised by how comforting it is to hear the voices and see the faces of the people you love. Use FaceTime or Skype to connect with your parents, grandparents, siblings, and friends. Find out if your church or community groups are offering online services or gatherings.

Stay active.

Exercise = endorphins.
Even if you have limited time, space, and equipment at home, there is a lot you can do to stay active. Check out local gym and yoga studio websites; many are providing daily online classes and no-equipment home workouts.

9 Ways To Stay Positive During The Coronavirus Pandemic

Obviously, there are things you need to know about the coronavirus outbreak to protect yourself and those around you, but you do not need to become a COVID-19 expert, nor do you need to hear about every unpleasant detail from dawn until bedtime. Instead, focus on the positive so that you have the energy and resolve needed to weather this storm. Read the article from Forbes »
