As we revisit the 90s, its bags are receiving a broad resurgence. We can thank the likes of Jennifer Anniston and Sarah Jessica Parker who catapulted the decades handbag styles.

Last year there was a classic revival of the Y2K look. Now, we’re taking a step back to before that era. Each generation likes to honor the classics with the emergence of reimagined versions of traditional bags.

The 90s was a decade characterized by its unforgettable fashion, and unforgettable bags.

#1. Fendi Baguette Brown Fabric Bag

The iconic medium Fendi Baguette brown fabric bag comes in various colors and patterns, but the more subtle, the better.

This modern iteration pays tribute to the past with its small French loaf size, a sleek house monogram pattern, and seamless detachable Shoulder strap with signature branding. Thanks to its expert craftsmanship, this long waitlisted It-bag is making its major comeback. 

I can quickly tuck it under my arm or hold it as I go on about my day, which is excellent. However, it doesn’t have a shoulder strap, which is somewhat annoying for a busy day when running errands. Also, there’s not that much space, but it does have more space than the mini-baguette, and it does come in a bigger size.

It’s a mainstay in my closet, as an investment piece indeed is.

An exuberant Coach May Shoulder Bag goes with anything, making any outfit look effortlessly elegant. I can go bold and extra glam with my day outfit or be sloppy and wear a tracksuit. Either way, I’d still look refined and understated with an affordable designer handbag.

It feels impressive as I casually tuck it underneath my shoulder. This everyday bag caters to a modern woman’s need for versatility and functionality. There’s a lot of space for all of my stuff. The only con is that its medium size makes it just a day bag.

#3. Gucci – Ophidia GG Mini Bag

As always, Gucci dips into its past with this dainty Ophidia GG Mini Bag. This delicate masterpiece has regal gold hardware and zip closure. There’s a harmonious balance of navy and red juxtaposed with beige and off-white.

Its subtle house monogram has some significant staying power, and its crescent silhouette has a retro vibe. The half-moon design looks polished. I love wearing it all day, every day. This bag’s only downside is that it is not spacious enough, so it can’t double up as a work bag or a gym bag unless I take the main essentials.

I love wearing this reminiscent Rachel from Friends piece, especially the pochette silhouette. I love its small size. That said, I like carrying around a lot of stuff that weighs me down throughout my day so this bag has a hard time doing that.

Hands down, this is a convenient and efficient bag. It’s not an evening bag, that’s for sure. Nonetheless, it’s an exuberant addition to my bag collection.
