How to Dress Your Children for a Wedding: The Dos and Don'Ts

It's one thing to make sure you are impeccably dressed for a Wedding, but what about your kids? If you felt it was a little stressful to navigate a wedding dress code for your own wedding guest outfit, add kids into the mix and you really see what anxiety in the outfit means! We've tried to make things a little easier for you with some classic dos and don't find the ideal wedding dresses for kids, what with them always on the move, susceptible to spillages, and veering dangerously into the spotlight at all times.

1. Think about comfort

First things first, comfort is king when it comes to kids. The last thing you want is a fidgety kid who's complaining because they're awkward. Younger kids will love fluffy, comfortable fabrics, while older kids will benefit from layers, so they can lose a layer without losing the look if they get too hot. Ensure that the fit is not too tight either. To keep your kid comfy, it can be worth spending a little more on a designer or well-made outfit.

2. Don’t just go only after white

Through their eyes, children understand the basics of the world and bright colors are one of the visual characteristics that help recognize and categorize objects. Their eyes see the color because according to the color in which they are drawn, they recognize objects. It is easier for them to distinguish light colors, and they are content with bright colors, too.

It has also been recognized that color influences their attitude and behavior. For children's clothes, it is very important for you to choose the correct combination of colors. Or rather than repeating them, play with colors.  While white is always a no-go at weddings for female guests, kids can get away with it as they offer an angelic vibe.

3. Remember florals are forever classics

Think of the most classic of features, florals, if you doubt what pattern to go for. For all the right reasons, set against a cream or white background, a Flower pattern will pop. Try a classic rose style this season to appease both you and your little darling.

4. Don't forget about accessorizingNothing like an accessory jazzes up plain outfit-and kids look positively cute on them.

Different types of accessories for a flower girl in a wedding-

Baskets of flowers and bags- There's so much variety when it comes to flower girl baskets and bags for your marriage that you're going to lose yourself trying to find the right one. Maybe it's a soft lavender-colored satin bag; maybe it's a handmade flower basket made from a vintage hat; maybe it's a fancy basket that will make everyone gasp as your flower girl walks past them. It is up to you all.

Tiaras- Tiaras are cherished by girls; there are no two ways to do that. It's one of those universal truths that the universe revolves around, and if you're trying to make your flower girls the world's happiest girls, you should have some tiaras for them that they can put on their heads and feel like princesses.

Headbands- If your wedding is going for a retro look, there is one decoration you just need to have for your flower girls. Of course, we're talking about headbands that just scream retro and that your flower girls will love as well. There are so many styles and forms to choose from that you will definitely find anything for your wedding that is ideal.

Take your Royal Queue from the Royals

When under 10, if anyone knows how to do wedding chic, it's the royals-they still tap into a more retro aesthetic, and it's as sweet to boot as anything. Any wedding will suit this traditional look, just remember to have the main elements- Peter Pan collars, long shorts, and a soft color palette.

Don't fear trying to balance mini-me styles

Matching dresses can be tweeted, so it's a wedding if you can get away with it somewhere. Perhaps it is a coordinating color scheme for the whole family or a pattern that is carried through to the outfit of all from a tie to a bag to a dress to a shirt. You don't have to wear matching pieces to make the hearts of everyone melt!

Do abide by the dress code

Whether it's pink, purple, red, or blue, whatever the color scheme of the bride is, try to steer clear of it, particularly if you know that hue is also worn by the bridesmaids and page boys. Instead, find a contrasting color or go for the complete opposite; the last thing you want is to think that your fellow guests are trying to shoehorn their kids into the wedding party.

Specifics for gender :-

Girls- Princess dresses for girls are beautiful, but be sure not to send a mini-bride down the aisle. Stop skirts that are full-length. This contributes to stumbling, torn hems, and the occasional falling. Just beneath the knee, mid-calf, and above the ankle are decent distances.

Boys- For formal weddings, suits are advisable and tuxedos are reserved for black-tie weddings. Otherwise, a safe bet is trousers with a matching blazer or jacket. It will encourage your child to fit in and look good by matching the groom and the groomsmen.

Don’t overlook a suit for boys- In a suit, little kids look ridiculously adorable, offering a debonair, dashing flair; and there's nothing quite as cute, whether it's a three-piece suit or a jacket and matching trousers. If you are attending a summer wedding, linen materials will provide the requisite coolness and warmth, or a tartan is a striking option for a colder environment.
