Say hello to my new skincare bff: the Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon! I’m seriously bursting with all of the good feels over this Dermalogica night gel-cream. It’s a major game changer in my nighttime skincare routine and is the perfect product to share with the Pettigrew Crew on World Sleep Day!

Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon:

What is the Dermalogica sound sleep cocoon? It’s a nighttime skincare treatment gel-cream. I haven’t used a gel/cream before and I’m loving the combo. It’s kind of sleek and smooth like a gel, but creamy and soft like a traditional night cream. Good skin stuff I tell ya. It actually works hard all night long to enhance my skin while I sleep. I love that while I’m busy sleeping, this gel-cream is busy making my skin healthier!

What’s Inside?

The ingredients of this sleep cocoon are beyond fabulous. Here’s what Dermalogica has to say about them:

• Persian silk tree extract: reduces signs of skin fatigue and helps restore vitality
• wu-zhu-yu extract: provides visibly radiant skin by morning.
• Tamarind seed polysaccharide: cushions skin, creating a nourishing cocoon of comfort for softer, more hydrated skin.
• Australian kakadu plum extract: rich in antioxidant vitamin C, is clinically shown to improve and brighten skin tone.
• French lavender essential oil: (that’s literally Encapsulated, motion-activated) along with calming sandalwood and patchouli, soothe the senses with aromatherapy to help promote deep, restful sleep for healthier-looking skin.

New & Innovative Packaging!

Next, I need to mention the innovative and smart packaging and design of this Dermalogica sound sleep cocoon. As you can see from my above photos, it looks like a jar with a lid, but it’s not…it’s better. One thing I really don’t care for when it comes to a lot of night creams and lotions is having to stick my fingers into them to use the product.

I usually have long nails, and I just hate the feeling of getting creams and lotions under my nails. Also, I just prefer for skincare product to pump into my hand in the exact amount I need. Well, this sound sleep cocoon does just that.

The Benefits of this Design:

You twist the top and you hear a little pop that unlocks the product. Then you lightly push down and the gel-cream pumps out a little at a time. Just a couple of pumps is all of you need. I did a semi-pump in the picture above to show you what I’m talking about. Can we just take a moment to appreciate this?

No wasted product under my nails & no germs in my product. Not to mention this system keeps my skincare product fresher longer!

Why i’m Crushing on it: 

The ingredients do it for me: First of all, the ingredients speak for themselves. They are lush, amazing and make my skin dance for joy. {like a full on jig} I do skincare reviews on the blog, YouTube channel and on Instagram, so you can imagine how many skincare treatments I’m constantly trying, and this Dermalogica sound sleep cocoon really stands out in a crowd.

Beautiful smell with a purpose: The smell from the French Lavender Essential Oil is heavenly. I have a lavender essential oil pillow spray that I sometimes use and this is way better. As soon as I put this gel-cream on my face I am in aromatherapy land and it just calms me and my skin right down. I feel more peaceful and ready for bed, which as a mama of four tiny humans that’s like gold.

Major skin improvement in a short time: This Dermalogica night cream was sent to me before the launch {which was yesterday March 15th,} so that I could test and review it. I’ve only been using it for about a week and I can already tell a difference in my skin. The actual texture of my skin feels smoother, softer and more glowy.

Better Sleep: It helps me to be more peaceful at bedtime, which helps me to get to sleep quickly. This equals more sleep, and that’s really important to me. {All moms said AMEN.}
