How to Get Rid of Dandruff with Natural Remedies?

Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe vera is a succulent plant known for its healing properties. The gel in its leaves contains several bioactive compounds, such as amino acids and antioxidants, that may reduce dandruff. Sudies suggest that Aloe Vera Gel may improve moisture retention in the skin and promote wound healing. Aloe vera may also reduce inflammation, which can help people with dandruff symptoms, such as itchiness.

For Application Gently apply the gel to your head, underneath your hair. Let the gel sit for 30 minutes to an hour. Use a mild shampoo to rinse the gel off your scalp. Repeat this process 2 to 3 times a week, or as recommended by your healthcare provider.

Tea Tree Oil

Historically, tea tree oil has been used to treat ailments ranging from acne to psoriasis. It is also proven to have powerful anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties, which may help alleviate symptoms of dandruff. There are many chemically synthesized shampoos available in markets with tea tree oil composition that you can use to cure your dandruff. Or you can also add five-to-ten drops of tea tree essential oil to your current shampoo bottle and shake vigorously. Massage into your scalp gently and rinse thoroughly.

Baking Soda

Sodium bicarbonate, which many people know as Baking Soda, may help reduce dandruff. Baking soda is an exfoliator that can remove excess skin cells and oil on the scalp. Baking soda also possesses antifungal properties that may help fight the fungus responsible for dandruff.  To treat dandruff with baking soda, dampen your hair slightly and rub baking soda on your scalp. Leave it for a minute or two before washing it off with Shampoo.

Coconut oil and lemon

This is yet another simple natural and effective remedy to cure dandruff. Coconut oil conditions your hair, while lemon juice helps to get rid of dandruff. All you need to do is heat 2-3 tbsp of coconut oil and mix it with equal parts of lemon juice and massage it on your scalp gently.

Yogurt, lemon juice & Vinegar

Yogurt has inherent cooling and anti-inflammatory properties, and that is why it fits perfectly for an ideal skin and hair-care regime. Yogurt works effectively for all hair types, especially in cases of dandruff. Make a mix of yogurt with lemon juice and white vinegar and apply on the scalp. Keep for about an hour, rinse and shampoo. This works great for dandruff on oily scalp.
