Tips for Choosing a Ring That can Pair with Sensitive Skin

The best way to let your sensitive skin be safe is to have a knowledge and understanding before your next Jewelry shopping.

In industrializing areas, about 5 to 10% of the women population have a nickel allergy. It is generally known type of Metal allergy. It will directly result in skin irritation and itching. Nickel is applied in the base metal of costume or fashion jewelry and then coated with silver or gold. Some people think they are allergic to gold or any other fine jewelry, but the truth is, the one to blame must be the nickel content. An allergic reaction will show up exactly where the jewelry had skin contact and can occur out of nowhere at any age. Nickel is well-known for a friendly-budget jewelry. It is durable, has a high polish, and is low-cost to produce. Allergic reactions are believed to mostly happen in women, but the fact is women are more likely to wear jewelry.

A nickel will produce salt when it is dissolved in water, this is a sign that the metal is deteriorating. This happens in areas that have mostly a lot of sweat and moisture, this deteriorating process disperse the metal out, rubbing and irritating the concentrated area. This is not good for those who have a sensitive skin, especially in wearing a ring, which can easily trap moisture from washing your hands or your own sweat.

Platinum and palladium are two of the topmost jewelry grade highly valued metals. Platinum is a durable metal in a glossy, silver tone that will never tarnish or corrode. While Palladium is naturally off-white and is smoother and more flexible than gold.

You are probably aware with platinum, which is an extremely valued metal used in luxury fine jewelry, but some are not aware that this metal is great for sensitive skin. It is called a “noble metal” for its resistance to rust. Platinum also resists tarnishing and corrosion. To conclude, platinum is hard to outshine its beauty. Apart from its beauty, platinum is highly durable and perfect for active lifestyles.

You can also go for alloys that contain palladium instead of copper or nickel. Palladium is like platinum’s lesser standard counterpart. It also has the whiteness and brilliance of platinum. It is as glossy, hypo-allergenic, and almost as pure as platinum, but because it is less dense, it is more affordable. Not only the white metal will not tarnish, but it won’t also irritate sensitive skin. Considering its flexibility, palladium is preferred for creating intricate metal work and because of its lesser dense, it is best for setting large gemstones such as diamonds, sapphires, and rubies.

One good option is a higher-karat gold. Most of us are aware that the gold was used since the ancient times for jewelry and for trade. Gold is versatile. You may choose from white, yellow or rose gold. Its softness allows elaborate jewelry designs. Gold ranges from 10k to 24k, but the higher the karat the higher the amount of pure yellow gold. Jewelry made with higher-karat gold appears to be more saturated and is softer since it is not mixed with other stronger metals. Lower-karat gold contains higher percentage of other metals including copper and this result in a pink hue of rose gold, it also includes silver, zinc, and other metals.
