The Federal Government has designed a National Pay Policy (NPP) to check arbitrariness in the workplace and to ensure appropriate remuneration for Nigerian workers.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Salaries Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC), Ekpo Nta, made this known on Wednesday in Abuja.
Speaking with Daily Sun, Nta said the policy will calculate the number of hours a worker spends in the office and the quality of work done which will determine salary payment.

A former Senator who represented Anambra Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Senator Annie Okonkwo is dead.
He reportedly died in US after a long battle with a terminal illness.

Recall that the deceased who was a foremost industrialist recently celebrated his 63rd birthday on May 23, 2023.

Two ad-hoc staff members of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) testified against the electoral umpire in the Presidential Election Petition Court in Abuja. They explained that the BVAS machine failed to transmit the scanned result sheet for the presidential election, despite multiple attempts. The court allowed their testimony despite objections from the lawyers representing INEC, President Bola Tinubu, and the All Progressives Congress. President Bola Tinubu is currently holding a closed-door meeting with the G-5 former governors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The group consists of four former governors and the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde. The meeting is taking place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The G-5 members arrived at the State House around 4:21 pm. Alongside Seyi Makinde, the other former governors in attendance are Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State. It is noteworthy that Wike has visited the State House multiple times within a week. During the previous election, the G-5 group had varying allegiances, with some supporting President Tinubu, while others supported the Labour Party’s candidate, Peter Obi.
