2023: Political Analyst, Jare Ajayi Tells Politicians To Focus On Security Now, Not Campaign

Politicians have been advised to pay more attention to insecurity and difficulties affecting the country as the political atmosphere in Nigeria begins to heat up ahead of the 2023 presidential election, with who will successor President Muhammadu Buhari becoming a significant focus.

Most politicians commenting on the next president of Nigeria have chosen Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the greatest choice to succeed Buhari, according to Jare Ajayi, a public affairs analyst.

Tinubu has been sponsored by traditional rulers, a former minister, parliamentarians, APC chieftains, and other pressure groups to succeed Buhari in 2023.

Tinubu, according to former Minister of Works Adeseye Ogunlewe, is in the best position to become Nigeria’s next president.

To that aim, Ogunlewe announced on Thursday that he is planning to launch a presidential campaign for the former Lagos State governor.

“We will announce the Lagos branch of his campaign team on Thursday, so that everyone is aware of his decision to run.”

Then we’ll go to the national conference, where they’ll determine the party’s flagbearer,” Ogunlewe had added.

Tinubu is now recovering from surgery in London.

While recuperating in London, APC National Leader Atiku Abubakar hosted state governors, senators, and APC chieftains, including President Muhammadu Buhari.

Abubakar Lado Suleja, a member of the Niger State House of Representatives representing the Suleja/Tafa And Gurara federal constituency, was among those who paid him a visit.

Suleja had addressed Tinubu as “Mr President Inshi Allah” while in the company of some legislators led by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ahmed Wase.

Despite all of the speculation about his succeeding Buhari in 2023, the former Lagos State governor has kept mute, fueling speculation in some quarters that he may run for president in 2023.

However, Jare Ajayi, a public affairs specialist, has chastised politicians for inflaming Nigeria’s political climate at a time when the country is beset by insecurity and deaths by robbers, Boko Haram, and mysterious gunmen.

In an interview, Ajayi stated that lawmakers should concentrate their efforts on tackling Nigeria’s insecurity issues rather than discussing the country’s future president.

Ajayi believes that if politicians truly care about Nigeria’s future, they will focus on resolving the country’s problems.

“The issue of 2023 should not be the main focus right now; the situation in Nigeria is so dire, so serious in terms of the economy, and especially in terms of insecurity,” he stated. If our politicians care about the country’s interests, they must pay attention to this.

“As a result, the topic of who should be president should not be the primary focus. It could be a covert operation, but we should concentrate on the issue of insecurity.

“The governor of Niger State recently criticized the fact that bandits had taken over several parts of the state. Boko Haram and bandits have not only taken over Shiroro Local Government in the same state, but they are already hoisting their flag and pushing citizens to join them, according to the Chairman of Shiroro Local Government.

“So, what does 2023 mean to someone like that?” Before we talk about who should become what, it’s more vital to survive and be in good shape.

“Our politicians, in my opinion, should focus on how to end the insecurity problem if they truly care about Nigerians. Take a look at what’s going on in the Southeast. Is this the type of life we should be leading?
