The 2021 Golden Globes Awards took place last night, and like all awards ceremonies these days, the event was a virtual one. The stars the stars celebrated the event in their homes with jaw-dropping outfits as the year’s best film and TV moments were honored.
With an “anything goes” dress-code, the 78th Golden Globes Awards which was hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, saw its honorees and virtual guests put on a more demonstrative dis. in the costume department. Despite social distancing, veteran and new stars alike gave their interpretation of virtual slay as they made Golden Globes Awards history––with this being the first time the awards show went digital.
On the award front, The biggest winners of the 78th Golden Globes Awards were “Nomadland” and “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm.” Among notable achievements of the night, Chloe Zhao, the director behind “Nomadland,” who was nominated along side Regina King for her film directorial debut “One night in Miami” and Emerald Fennell for “Promising young woman,” became the first woman to win the best director award since 1984 when Barbara Streisand won an award for “Yentl.”
While King has been praised for her film directorial debut, she is currently grabbing headlines with the stunning dress she wore last night. Designed by Louis Vuitton, the silver and black silhouette took over three-hundred and fifty hours to make, while t. are over three-thousand sequins framing the front. King’s jewelry was provided by Forevermark.
Despite nominations for Black actors and filmmakers being sparse, winners were not in short supply. John Boyega, Daniel Kaluuya, Andra Day and the late Chadwick Boseman were all honored for their work during Sunday night’s ceremony.
From Golden Globes OGs like Nicole Kidman to newbies like Emma Corrin, the best-dressed stars of the night came in a range of looks that was as individualistic as they wanted it to be.
