The Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc. (CFDA) is a not-for-profit trade association. It was established in 1962 with the purpose of raising funds for charity and other events and activity in and through the field of fashion. It has around 500 members from The United States of America Fashion World in the niches of menswear, womenswear,  jewelry and other accessories. The council hosts their annual CFDA awards to honor the creative people for their work and for bringing a change in the fashion industry. The awards are considered the biggest awards in the American Fashion World.

This year the awards were held at the Brooklyn Museum. Tom Ford debuted as the chairman this year. Minhaj and Jessica Williams hosted the event. A lot of big names were nominated for the awards. A-list models and celebrities showed up to support the designers who leave no stone unturned to make them look good on every event.
