SHEET MASK | Pacifica Disobey Time, Pollution Fight, Stress Rehab and Mattify Prep Facial Masks

Purchased by me

We are massively going back in time today with these very colourful and attractively packaged Pacifica sheet masks as I have been avoiding sheet masks for the last 3 weeks due to a small rash that popped up on my face (and by small, I mean a 4mm circle on my chin). I am currently treating it with steroid cream as the previous cream I was using was not working, so fingers crossed this one works! In the meantime, this means you are going to see archival photos of Jayne with dark hair because yes, I STILL have sheet masks that I haven’t talked about from four years ago!

I am picked up these four Pacific masks in Maine the last time I travelled (so before the pandemic…) and I am pretty sure I used them in April 2019 as part of an Earth Day theme and of course never got around to posting about them mainly because as much as I liked the packaging, I wasn’t a big fan of the fit. They were kind of a big deal at the time as these were the first sheet masks that Pacifica released and they were vegan and phthalate-free with a really solid ingredients list.

Disobey Time
What makes this mask special? We’ve got pomegranate, green tea, rice and rose hip seed oil and chamomile all in the top half of the ingredients list and even though it has been a few years since these masks launched, I still consider this ingredients list to be a solid one!

In addition to the ingredients, all of these masks look the same AND have HEART-SHAPED eye holes. Yes, that’s right, these masks give you literally lovey-dovey eyes!

Mask Summary:

Price: $4 USD

What it does: Hydration and youthful skin

Scent: Light rose

Essence Type: Clear, lightly viscous

Duration: 10-20 minutes

Thickness: Medium

Mask Fit: A bit long with sides of face being exposed

Tackiness: Light

Hydration: Good

Other notes: No extra essence left in packet

Pollution Fight
What makes this mask special? Ingredient #4 is the antioxidant Vitamin C, followed by pomegranate, green tea, blue algae, kelp, chlorella and banana extract! Sounds like the yummiest skin smoothie! Again, the ingredients were solid, unique (when it comes to sheet mask ingredients) and in decent concentrations.

Mask Summary:

Price: $4 USD

What it does: Fight environmental aggressors resulting from urban lifestyle

Scent: Banana and Calpis (this is like an Asian drink that is a super popular one as it is the result of lactic acid fermentation)

Essence Type: Clear, lightly viscous

Duration: 10-20 minutes

Thickness: Medium

Mask Fit: A bit long with sides of face being exposed

Tackiness: Light

Hydration: Good

Other notes: No extra essence left in packet

Stress Rehab
What makes this mask special? This mask had the shortest ingredients list out of the quad, but it still contained green tea, caffeine, coconut and chamomile extract all at the top of the ingredients list. This was also my favourite packaging as I loved how soothing the colour scheme was!

Mask Summary:

Price: $4 USD

What it does: Tone and help fight redness and puffiness

Scent: Coconut

Essence Type: Clear, lightly viscous

Duration: 10-20 minutes

Thickness: Medium

Mask Fit: A bit long with sides of face being exposed

Tackiness: Zero

Hydration: Low – my face felt tight

Other notes: I felt a bit tingly around the eyes and mouth which doesn’t happen to my tough as nails skin very often!

Mattify Prep
What makes this mask special? This is an EXFOLIATING mask which uses papaya enzymes to clarify skin in addition to brightening it with vitamin C, pomegranate, green tea and pineapple extracts.
I really wanted to like this mask especially because it said that it would provide oil-free hydration, but it was just TOO oil-free for me!

Mask Summary:

Price: $4 USD

What it does: Clears oil and clarifies skin via chemical exfoliation.

Scent: Pineapple! Smelled really good!

Essence Type: Clear, lightly viscous

Duration: 10-20 minutes

Thickness: Medium

Mask Fit: A bit long with sides of face being exposed

Tackiness: Zero

Hydration: Low – left a tight residue on my face that might feel better on combo/oily skin, but I really felt like I needed to slather on the moisturizer!

Other notes: N/A

Final verdict: While the fit wasn’t fantastic on these, the ingredients were quite good. I do wish there was more essence in the packet as medium thickness masks tend to soak up more so there really should be 30mL of essence vs 20mL. There are a couple of new sheet masks now that I would love to try because like a collector, I need to TRY THEM ALL! Packaging was super cute and I would say out the group that Disobey Time was my favourite, but I really liked the scents of all of them!
