Spring Beauty Routine

Although I don’t switch up my Beauty Routine all that often, occasionally I do make some tweaks or new additions based on the season, the current condition of my Skin and any empties I’m looking to replace.

This season, is probably one of my biggest skincare updates in quite some time and I wanted to share my feedback and reviews with you!

First, let me preface this post by saying that I generally post about beauty products only after I’ve given them a fair shot — meaning, used them for 12 weeks or more. I think that’s a fair amount of time to assess whether there is any actual improvement or change to your skin. It also gives your skin a little bit of time to adjust to the new regimen and work out any kinks (i.e. breakouts!). Also, it’s probably helpful to share that I am pretty fair, with more mature, dry skin (late 30’s!). I definitely have started to notice a few fine lines around my eyes and a loss of fullness in my face.

You know, all that good stuff that comes with aging!

When it comes to my beauty routine I think it’s best to break it down by day and night. In general, I use different products for these two categories with a little overlap. For day, I tend to focus more on keeping my skin protected with a light moisture barrier and a good sunscreen/spf. For night, I like to nourish my skin more with richer, more moisturizing products that help condition and repair while I sleep.

Day

Pearlessence UK Rose Water Hydrating Face Mist

I purchased this face mist on a whim while wandering through my local TJ MAXX. I can’t seem to find the exact product online, but after comparing active ingredients and descriptions, THIS mist is essentially identical (and available for purchase)! I love the floral scent and the way it revives and awakens my skin in the morning. I can’t say it’s extra moisturizing, but it does make my skin feel really good. I spray it on and then brush my teeth to give the product a minute to absorb, before I head on to the next step of my skincare routine.

Caudalíe VINE[ACTIVE] Glow Activating Anti-Wrinkle Serum

Next, I pump a dime sized amount of this serum and spread it onto my skin. The VINE[ACTIVE] Glow Activating Anti-Wrinkle serum was created to moisturize and protect skin against environmental stressors and pollution. It’s light and has a really pleasant scent to it. Unlike many serums, this one absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave my skin feeling sticky at all. Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Hyaluronic Acid are the active ingredients that go to work and are especially great for dry skin and wrinkle prevention. Ever since I started using this line of products, I’ve noticed that my skin appears smoother and a bit more even toned.

Caudalíe VINE[ACTIVE] 3-in-1 Moisturizer

Now, onto the moisturizer. The 3-in-1 CAUDALIE VINE[ACTIVE] Moisturizer is made with similar active ingredients as the serum, but gives more of a light moisture boost. I would say it’s on the thinner/lighter side so I’m not sure this would be the best choice in really dry climates or during especially cold winters — especially if you have dry skin. Personally, I’d want something heavier. But for spring, this is a nice option for my skin. My face seems to soak it right up… I’m on my 2nd container!

SUPERGOOP Defense Refresh Setting Mist With Rosemary SPF 50

Since we’re talking daytime routines, adding some sort of sun protection is critical. I often use iT Cosmetics CC CREAM with SPF 50, but as an additional barrier I give my face a spritz of this SUPERGOOP Setting Mist once I finish applying my makeup. It’s especially handy if I switch to a foundation (I LOVE this Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer in ONE!) without any SPF. I’ve also used it on the beach in the summer for a quick shot of SPF protection.

BYREDO Gypsy Water Eau De Parfum

No beauty routine is complete without a signature scent. I picked up this BYREDO Eau De Parfum last summer and love its slightly outdoorsy, woodsy scent. The combination of sandalwood, vanilla, bergamot and lemon is really unique. It’s not too girly, but definitely still has some pretty floral notes to it. Scent is so hard to describe and a little different on everyone, so if you’re ever come across this perfume in person, I highly recommend giving it a spritz!

Night

PEARLESSENCE UK Rose Water Hydrating Face Mist

Again, I love the feel of a spritz of this product. It just freshens and reinvigorates my skin. I spray it on after I wash my face and remove all my makeup. I would say it almost has a toner quality to it?!

PEARLESSENCE UK Rosehip Balancing Facial Oil

In the evening, I like to start my skin routine (post spritz) by applying this light, rose-scented oil on my face and neck. It’s really moisturizing and smells amazing and I like to let it sink into my clean skin before I apply anything else. As counterintuitive as it may sound, my skin has never been clearer than since I started using this oil.

Caudalíe Premier Cru Eye Cream

Now, here is where my battle against wrinkles begins! I apply one pump of this extra luxurious and rich eye cream to my eye contour each night (and even around my lips). I swear, I wake up with smoother, brighter and refreshed eyes no matter how much sleep I get… although the more sleep the better! If I need some extra help in the morning, occasionally I’ll treat my eye area in the AM with the same single pump of product.

Caudalíe Premier Cru The Cream

Yes, this cream is pricey but a little goes a LONG way. It’s super rich, so a dab will do you. It feels amazing on your skin and if you suffer from a dry or dull complexion, this product will fix that right up.

Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1

I can’t even begin to tell you how long I’ve been using this lip balm!? Since 2001, maybe?! I keep a tube of it on my vanity and apply to my lips before bed. It’s petroleum based, without any flavoring or coloring and does the job better than any other lip balm product I’ve tried. Any excess, I’ll just rub into my cuticles.

Got any skincare/beauty questions about any of the products I mentioned — send them my way!
