Ciara thinks of her 10-month-old daughter as she maneuvers through her everyday life. She wants her to have opportunities to excel in the world as a successful woman. Never at any point, according to the 32-year-old R&B singer, should she feel she cannot do anything because she is not a man.
This is her motivation to uplift, encourage and empower women to be all we can be in life. Both men and women should use their platforms to address the issue of gender equality. Ciara believes that this is a way to affect change. It takes women to be brave and courageous to stand and talk about these issues and it takes strong men to support them.
Ciara’s comments related to the #TimesUp Movement came right after a barrage of sexual assault and harassment allegations hit the media. This movement seeks to “de-power” men within the film industry as well as the music business.
It will take true take solidarity to bring women together for personal and professional empowerment. Ci Ci is ready to do her part to make her voice heard as a celebrity in the music industry.
