History of this tea

Tea is from eZen Tea in Atlanta and bought inside the store May 2016. I liked the fact I could try the tea before buying and everyone on both sides of the counter were very helpful recommending different samples of their favorite teas. It really turned out to be a fun afternoon sampling different teas and making new friends.

Review

May 2016 ~ Just opening the package there are slight tones of plum. The leaves have earthy tones and shaped like they were slightly pan fried which is typical chinese style.

Preparation: Brought the water to a boil and poured over leaf for about 30 seconds to wash ( soaking the leaves until they opened up) and dumped the rinse.

The first brew

• About 30 seconds
• at 212 f

Pictured above, the first brew or infusion, came out rich with deep colors in a deeper cup. The container above is very shallow to show the different tones.

The first Taste on the tongue is a bit smokey and went down with a nice toasty nutty finish.

2nd Pouring soaked the leaves for

• about 12 seconds
• at 190f

WOW, very alive with different tones & tastes and a silky texture. A nice smokiness on the way down.

3rd & 4th Pouring
3rd pouring I had with sardines, oysters and spicy mustard. The mustard was too overwhelming to taste the tea. The 4th: the silkiness really stands out with plenty of earthy tone and very smooth.

This is my first Pu Erh review and very amazed at the different tastes and smooth textures from the different pours.
