Modern studies show that tequila is also beneficial to weight loss goals. It helps bring balance to sugar levels of Diabetes patients. With that, even healthcare professionals recommend moderate intake on a regular basis.

How Does Tequila Help You Lose Weight?

In a meeting held by the American Chemical Society, researchers said that tequila’s main component, Agave, has the type of sugar that could lower the level of blood glucose in Diabetes patients, helping them and those who are obese, in losing weight. Agavins, the name of natural sugar found in Agave, function as fiber. Agavins, not to be mistaken for Agave Syrup, makes people feel fuller, sustaining them between meals at a longer rate. This discovery was reported to thousands of scientists who attended the 24th National Meeting of The American Chemical Society (ACS), which is the largest scientist community in the world. Over ten thousand reports covering science advancements and other developments are disseminated at the conference each time. ACS is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and Columbus, Ohio. It provides breakthrough information on chemistry-related findings.

What Are Agavins And What Do They Do?

Besides reducing glucose levels, agavins increase insulin content in the body. As consumption increases GLP-1, the hormone that slows down the stomach from emptying, it works on stimulating insulin production. Agavins may not be as sweet as artificial sweeteners, but compared to them, no side effects (like headaches) are observed from consumption. What’s more is that, this particular type of sugar fosters the growth of healthy microbes in the intestines and in the mouth.

When Are The Best Times To Drink Tequila To Lose Weight?

Some recommended taking a minimum amount during the day, maybe even after lunch. It helps sustain you in between meals. The most common time one takes it is after dinner as it helps relax you after a day’s stress. Sip slowly, never hurriedly and remember to take it with a glass of water. Always stick to good quality tequila, pure agave is recommended. This guarantees a headache free feeling the day after. Which Tequila Are Best For Weight Loss

Tequila is like Champagne for Mexico and Mexico prohibits any “tequila” labeling on a product unless the liquor comes from Jalisco and specifically listed Mexican states. Naturally, many people view that Mexican brands would be your top choices for tequila.

Alquimia Reserva de Don Adolfo Extra Añejo Tequila is a top brand, aged for about 3 years. It is expensive. Cinnamon, herbs, and other select spices have been put in the blend. How Healthy Is Tequila?

Tequila is a balanced drink that is normally smooth on the body. It means, drinking it in moderation won’t pose discomfort or hangover the next day. Stick to 100% Agave and you won’t have problems. Experts say that it is only when you take shots of non-pure tequila that you get unwanted after effects. They discourage mixed alcohols which are sugar-based. Chemicals and additives also contribute to the terrible headaches drinkers get the next day.
Tequila aids in digestion and it is recommended you take a shot together with a glass of water. Pure tequila has simple sugars, easy for the body to break down and distribute. It is also observed to lower cholesterol as it breaks down dietary fat. This helps decrease LDL levels, the bad type of cholesterol. Tequila is also a good relaxant. Taken in moderation, it relieves you from strain, tension or tightness.

Which Tequila Brands Are Made In The Philippines?

Interestingly, there’s proving to be some connection between Filipinos and the early history of Tequila. Geographer, Henry Bruman, from University of California, released his research and documentation in 1944. Part of his discovery tells of Filipino Sills found in western Mexico in the latter part of the 16th century. These sills that were found were distinctly foreign; they were non-Spanish, nor locally Mexican and looked very similar to the sills Filipino seamen brought to western Mexico. More interestingly, Jalisco uses the term “tuba” in reference to mescal wine before the process of tequila distillation is applied. Most probably, sills used for distillation were Filipino made. Local newspaper, Manila Bulletin, gives rich details on how the Philippines and Mexico are connected throughout history. Henry Bruman discovered that in Mexico, no method of distillation was practiced before the Europeans came and the Filipino community’s practice and technique of coconut wine distillation (tuba) in Colima, Mexico in the 16th century may have started the idea and birth of tequila distillation.

Moving back to the present, Destileria Limtuaco & Co. is the oldest distillery in the Philippines, established in 1852 by Chinese immigrant, Lim Tua Co. He began producing and selling medicinal wine, locally termed as Sioktong. The first productions were done in Binondo, Manila. Today, Local Tequila is among their product lines.

El Hombre Gold is exotic, aged and matured in oak barrels. Popular bars offer this variety; it is well patronized. Alcohol content is 40% by volume. The company also produces El Hombre Tequila Silver. It is a blend of imported flavors and neutral spirits. It is a staple offering in night clubs and local bars.
