Day 58, Down to my 60 day goal weight!!!

Jess and I are now on to day 58 of our 90 day challenge and I'm a little ahead of schedule.  I have made my goal of 30 pounds lost already and Jess is down 18!

We haven't taken measurements since the middle of the month, so we're really excited to record them on day 60.  I will post our total measurements, weight loss, and pictures on day 60.  I'm very curious to see how many inches we've lost this month because everything is fitting pretty loose on both of us.

After a slow start the first month and losing mostly inches, Jess is really starting to lose the pounds now.  I was a little bit worried about myself dropping the rest of the weight for my goal because my plan to exercise all the way through until the 90 day mark changed because of my school schedule.  But I was able to follow a low calorie diet that has worked out great.

Over the past week I've also been drinking water every chance I get throughout the day.  My daily water intake is probably at least 4 liters a day and I think this has really helped to boost my weight loss.  I don't believe water actually aiding in weight loss is 100% proven, but personally I think it does.  I lost about 4 pounds this week after increasing my water intake.

Last week my diet stayed exactly the same every day.  Usually I like to change it up day to day, but I wasn't getting tired of any of my snacks.  Jess and I have both been on a pickle binge lately, so for school I would take 3 pickles and 2 pepperoni sticks for a snack in the morning, my usual shake for lunch, and then almonds and an apple for the afternoon snack.  I found after a couple of days I was actually tired of having the apple, so I just had the almonds by themselves and didn't substitute the apple with anything.  Every time I'm out of the class, I go and grab some water from the cooler.

Our dinners have been amazing thanks to my wife's wonderful culinary skills.  She picked up a great new recipe cookbook called, "Eat, Shrink & Be Merry! Great-Tasting Food That Won't Go from Your Lips to Your Hips!"  It can be found here:  Looneyspoons Collection: Janet & Greta's Greatest Recipe Hits plus a Whole Lot More.  Jess loves this collection.  Our favorite recipe from this book is called, "No way, José!"  It's a very tasty lasagna dish.

Both of our energy levels have been pretty good overall.  I did notice a bit of sluggishness on the weekend, but nothing too major.  We still love the shakes and I didn't notice any change in taste or consistency after switching from 1% milk to skim.  (Never in my life did I think I would be drinking skim milk.)

Other than the two weeks jogging earlier this month and going for a few walks, we've lost the weight and inches with virtually no exercise, which I think is amazing!

I'll update our progress in a couple of days.  Just over a month to go!!!
