Walking Method as Weight Loss

Walking is a terrific activity that can significantly contribute to sustainable Weight Loss. It is easy and just about everyone can do it. Most experts agree that Walking is the preferred exercise for people who need to increase their physical activity as a part of their overall strategy for sustainable weight loss. Studies conducted at the Rippe Lifestyle Institute (RLI) have shown that starting regular walking programs can effectively boost weight loss, preserve lean muscle tissue, and improve mood. One study specifically looked at walking as part of a Weight Watchers program and found that regular walking was a highly effective component of a comprehensive weight-loss method.

Over 90% of NWCR participants say that they exercise almost every day. What is their preferred exercise? You guessed it, walking.

Walking has so many things going for it. It is a low-intensity exercise if you are strolling and a moderate-intensity exercise if done at a brisk pace. It does not cause a lot of pounding on bones and joints because one foot is always in contact with the ground during walking. Many other forms of exercise can be hard on the joints, especially with extra weight. Walking requires no special training or skill and can be done alone or with others. It does not require buying an expensive gym membership or exercise equipment. However, purchasing a good, sturdy pair of walking shoes can increase comfort and help avoid injury and blisters.
What’s the best way to start a walking program? If you are just starting to get active, start slowly and build up slowly. It may take two or three months to reach a goal of thirty minutes per day, depending on your stamina. Choose a set time of day and schedule your walk in your calendar.

Staring a Walking Program
Week 1 10 minutes per day
Week 2 12-13 minutes per day
Week 3 14-16 minutes per day
Week 4 16-19 minutes per day
Week 5 18-22 minutes per day
Week 6 on Add 2-3minutes per day each week
People who have established a walking routine cannot imagine a day without the enjoyment of a regular walk.
