Be unreasonable!!

Tags: dream

George Bernard Shaw wrote, “The reasonable man adapts himself to the world: the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.” Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.”

Dreams help us realize our potential and to tap into our greatest resources within us, and around us. Maxwell writes: Without a dream, we may struggle to see potential in ourselves because we do not look beyond our current circumstances.

Let us understand first, what is a dream. A dream is an activity of the mind that happens when we are asleep. It can also be defined as a series of thoughts emotions and images that occur in a person’s mind during sleep or whatever we go through during the day gets recorded in our mind and replays when we are asleep which we call a dream.

Dreams are activities, occasions, events, thoughts, and actions recorded and replayed in our subconscious mind when we are asleep. There is no specific time of dreams in our sleep, but it has been noticed that dreams walk in whenever we are fast asleep. This time our subconscious mind is active. Dreams are about anything and everything, you can imagine on this planet. Living in a small tenement, you can dream of owning a Mercedes car, such is the vastness and expanse of your dreams. While asleep we cannot dream by design, dreams just happen.

What can transpire into reality is what we dream with open eyes. We dream of accomplishments, luxuries, success, travel, relationships, studying abroad, and the like. This is when we say if you must dream, dream BIG. A dream that a challenge, looks far-flung, near impossible to accomplish, or needs some planning, strategizing, and hard work. You need to work day and night to accomplish your dream. Dreams are real mirage, they are far, far very far. But what is life without some challenges? If you dream big, your challenges are bigger!

Our dreams act as a compass and help us choose a path, among our many options.  Dreams shape our choices that shape our way forward.

Hence, dreaming big leads you to bigger goals which makes life worth living. This makes it even more important that we look for something worthwhile to aim for. A dream provides us with that.  It acts as a compass, telling us the direction we should travel.

We must explore a few directions before pointing in the right direction and until we follow that right direction, we will never know for sure that our movement is progress. Our actions are just as likely to take us backwards instead of forward.

If you move in any direction other than towards your dream, you will miss out on the opportunities necessary to be successful.

Paul Hovey said, ‘A blind man’s world is bounded by the limits of his touch; an ignorant man’s world by the limits of his knowledge, a great man’s world by the limits of his vision. If your vision–your dream–is great, then so is your potential for success.”

There is unsaid importance of dreaming big. Wise people say that you should dream only those goals that you can accomplish. But what is the fun of dreaming by design? According to me, one should have no hidden dream so that one challenge your capabilities to achieve them.

If you do not have any big dream to accomplish, you will have to struggle to see potential in yourselves because you are not able to look beyond your current circumstances. But with a dream, you start viewing yourself in a new light, as having a greater potential and being capable of stretching and growing to reach it.

If you are not being unreasonable and senseless with your dreams, you are not challenging yourself enough. Moreso, you are not dreaming big enough.

When you have a dream that is big enough it will be mind-blowing. It will be one that will challenge you and scare you at the same time. It will be a dream that is so huge you will get excited and question your sanity at the same time.

Who would have believed in the eighteen hundreds that man would be able to fly faster than any bird in the nineteen hundreds and beyond? The Wright brothers did. They challenged the view of their day and dared to dream. They were unreasonable men. This way being unreasonable does not make you a loser but an accomplished achiever.

One of the limitations of your goal journey is physical limitations. There is a need to free yourself from your current physical limitations such as how much money you have, what papers you have, your current job, where you live, and what you own. Your dream should be illogical and not practical. If you have a clear idea right from the start as to how you would achieve your dream with every detail worked out, it is flawed.

So, do not pay need to your limitations or the lack of resources, just start dreaming BIG and be HappyHO.
