Which Deadlift Straps Are Best To Buy For Monster Weight?

One thing however needs to be certain, the gear you train with needs to withstand the abuse you dish out.

At any given notice, if your training gear ends up failing, it can mean some horrible results such as:

  • Failure to stimulate growth
  • Being prone to injury
  • Missing potential PR’s

With that in mind, you need gear that withstands the insanity and not something cheap that only lasts a couple of workouts.

Deadlift straps should not be one of those tools to go cheap on. Imagine trying to lockout a 600lb max and the straps tear mid-set.

Not a pretty sight to say the least.

So now begs the question…

What Are The Best Deadlift Straps?

We will go over the top 3 that has good results & provides the best bang for your buck.

  1. Schiek Straps
  2. Harbinger Straps
  3. APT lifting straps (no longer active)
  4. Versa gripps

Schiek Lifting Straps, Yay or Nay?

Schiek no doubt has some quality stuff, so if going with a proven company, Schiek is your best bet.

Their straps are none other than quality when you first use them. Very well produced as the material is tough, durable & able to withstand multiple poundages.

The added wrist support is a huge plus if you tend to have tweaky wrists.

As for negatives ,there isn’t really any other than price maybe. Every site we checked gave them 4 or 5 star rating or a 8-9/10 rating.

Harbring Straps – Cheap Quality Or Actually Good?

Unlike the Schiek straps, these do not come with added wrist support.

But this alone is not a deal breaker.

While being around $8-10 cheaper than Schiek, these straps can hold their own and provide the best bang for your buck.

Harbinger has a 4-5 star rating and a 8-9 average rating on bodybuilding.com.

APT Pro Lifting Straps – The Final Verdict?

I hate to see these people go as the site is no long active, but APT has probably the best wraps for powerlifters and serious deadlifters alike.

Their products are top notch & designed to handle strongman type weight. As you can expect, their products are higher priced compared to others.

If you know the demands of powerlifters and strongman use, you can be sure the quality and life of their products are ten fold.

If you happen to own one of them or decide to buy them, you will notice the thickness of the straps compared to others.

Compared to other straps, APT makes them look paper thin. That alone is a good sign that this shit will last for many workouts to come.

One downside if you have small hands is the thicker grip it creates. Since they are thick material, the bar will be a little more difficult to get your full grip wrapped around.

Versa Gripps – Possible Alternative

We had to throw these in because someone suggested too. Never tried them nor actually know how much they can withstand. But they seem like they can hold a bit just based off pictures.

All we know is that lots of pros seem to use them and they have a good following judging by the feedback.

But they are a bit pricy, if you have the money to fork over for them, by all means.

But either way, possible choice between all of them would be APT.

Since APT is no longer a viable option, Schiek would be the best alternative just because they have had lots of quality products that hasn’t failed our heavy deadlift sessions.
