To All The Women Afraid Of Gaining Too Much Muscle

When Women come to me for my services, most of them have the same common goal…that is to lose weight and “tone”.  It is no secret I believe in following a specific diet with heavy weight training to accomplish these goals.  As we start training and start increasing the weights on the exercises I can start to see the look of concern on their faces.  They will start out to throw little hints out like, “are you increasing the weight again?”, “that’s heavier than last time, isn’t it?”  and stuff like that.  I know what they are getting at.   Finally they will get to a point and say, “I don’t want to be all big and muscular you know!”  or “I don’t want to look like a man”! Every time I hear these kind of things I do find in quite entertaining, now let’s get into this a little more in depth.

First of all for 95% of the female population they will never have to worry about getting too muscular, no matter how strong they get.  Females simply do not have the hormonal make up to gain alot of Muscle and look all manly.  For example, look at any of the Olympic sports on TV.  All these female athletes look very toned and still feminine, even though they have better genetics for gaining muscle then 99% of the population.  How do you think these athletes train?  You got it…hard and heavy!

Another thing to think about.  Look at all the guys in the gym working out every day taking the latest supplements and eating mega amounts of protein in hopes of gaining 5 pounds of muscle, and yet very few of them succeed, and yet they have a much better chance of gaining muscle than women and still they struggle.

In order to lose fat the quickest way possible and tone you must lift weights.  If you just diet you will get that “skinny fat”  look that might look good with clothes on but will look horrible in a bikini.  Someone that trains hard and heavy will look good in both.

A very important thing to realize is that a muscle that is trained heavy will have that toned look even when relaxed.  This is what women want when they say they want to look toned.  If you lift weights that are too light you will never get that toned look in the muscle at rest…which gets back to the skinny fat look I was talking about earlier.

THE PROBLEM:  The women who look like they are too muscular or not feminine are the ones who are carrying too much body fat.  Plain and simple.  Sure if you are strong and carrying an extra 30 pounds of bodyweight then ya I agree that’s not a good look for a women.  But once that excess weight comes off and the person becomes lean, you are left with a feminine, tight and toned body!  Plus women with more muscle tend to live longer, be healthier, have stronger bones, have less of a risk of getting disease, age better, have better posture, and the list goes on!

To wrap it up I will say to all the women, do not be afraid to train hard and train heavy!  Once your weight loss goals are achieved you will be very, very happy with the results!

Check out these videos….these women have very feminine, toned bodies, and have very high levels of relative strength.  More than 99% of the population can expect.  They key is to be lean!
