Strike A Pose | How To Become A Pilates Instructor

Yoga bunny? Love the idea of teaching your own studio classes?

If you dream of dorsiflexion or becoming an imprinting influencer, you can now become a Pilates instructor with our brand new pilates matwork course.

WHAT’S HOT ABOUT BECOMING A PILATES INSTRUCTOR?

Out of The Office

Forget cramped cubicles and overflowing paper-filled desks. As a Pilates Instructor, your floor mat is your workspace!  You can work in a gym, in the park, at home or at the beach if the British weather is in your favour!

Flexible Hours

For some fitness professionals, the working day can be over and done in 5 hours. You have the flexibility to not only work when you want, but as much as you want, in order to make a living that suits your lifestyle!

Get Paid For Your Passion

One of our past students said, “there’s no better job than being paid to stay in shape!” As a pilates instructor, you’ll have plenty of time to keep up your fitness levels. If you are working in a gym you can hone your technique between clients or make your own studio classes work as part of your overall fitness regime.

Forget The Dress Code

No need for pinstripe suits, co-ordinated office accessories or bulging briefcases! Wear what you like, every day! (Which is usually your most comfortable pilates pants or the latest Athleisure!)

Sociable

If you love to be sociable and mix and mingle with new people, then a pilates instructor is the job for you. Not only will you get the opportunity to chat to your clients, but if you’re freelance, networking will expand your opportunities to bring in new business.

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

To become a pilates instructor, you’ll need a relevant qualification, such as our Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork. This course will teach you all you need to know about co-ordinating your own pilates sessions, including…

    • SMART goal setting
    • Key elements within Pilates
    • Assessing posture and alignment
    • Identifying and correcting muscle imbalances
    • Activating the core muscles
    • Phases within Pilates
    • Planning beginner and intermediate Pilates classes
    • Using small equipment within Pilates
    • Effective coaching skills
    • Tactile cueing

Upon completion, you’ll receive a qualification that will allow you to take your first step towards a career within a health club, leisure centre or boutique fitness studio, as a fully qualified Pilates instructor.

WHERE COULD MY PILATES QUALIFICATION TAKE ME?

Today’s fitness influencers don’t just stick to the studio. Once qualified as a pilates instructor, you open doors to a number of career options.
