ALS or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects upper and lower motor neurons in the brain and the spinal cord. A person loses the voluntary actions of muscles. Rehabilitation is aimed at improving and maintaining the range of motion of involved extremity.
