Working out during a Pregnancy is one of the very best things you can do for your body (both during and after pregnancy), but also one of the best things you can do for your baby. Exercising while pregnant prepares your body for the stresses of labor, and also maintains a healthy blood flow that will ensure you and your baby stay healthy. Others will tell you that if you were doing a fair amount of high intensity training before your pregnancy, that continuing to do modified versions of those same workouts would be perfectly acceptable. Every woman and every pregnancy is different, so you should ALWAYS talk to your doctor and assess the risks before beginning any workout program.

Use the modifiers

As mentioned earlier, one of the best things about P90X3 is the fact that they offer modifier workouts during every video that pregnant women can do. There are those women out there who want to go above and beyond what is healthy to maintain their figure. This is a great attitude, so long as you don’t overextend yourself and put yourself or your baby at risk. The P90X3 modifiers will still give you a great workout , but will reduce the hard impacts that jumping or quick side-to-side movements can cause. Listen to your body

I know this is becoming a repetitive phrase, but you really have to listen to your body. A great tool to use is a heart rate monitor. If you use a heart rate monitor and begin to feel faint, take note of what your heart rate is at that time. Take a break until you feel like you can continue, then monitor your heart rate and make sure you are careful as you approach that zone. You also have to remember that as your body is constantly changing throughout a pregnancy, some thing that were easy to do last week might not be this week. Don’t feel like you are moving backwards. Any exercise is good exercise, so long as you are safe.

Exercise in general is great during a pregnancy. Good exercise readies your body for the pains and strains of labor, promotes good sleep (which in turn promotes good blood flow), and burns fat during and post pregnancy. If you begin early on in the pregnancy with P90X3 workouts, you will be more likely to continue that style of exercise later on into your pregnancy. Exercise like that which your find in P90X3 programs, work to promote good posture, and also work to increase flexibility in hips and pelvis. And, continuing to do P90X3 while pregnant will build strength and make it easier to get your pre-baby body back!

If it feels right, do it

Don’t think that just because you might be doing some modifiers during your P90X3 workouts that it will come easy. P90X3 is hard and the rewards are totally worth it. As long as you talk to your doctor and make sure that you aren’t putting yourself or your baby at risk, P90X3 can be a great tool for you to stay active and healthy during pregnancy. P90X3 while pregnant will be hard, but there have been plenty of women who have completed the whole program without any issues. If it feels right, do it! And if you need to take breaks, take breaks. Listen to your body, and you and your baby will benefit from P90X3.
