It has caffeine, vitamins B6 and B12, thiamine and creatine which combined are known to help with focus, energy and performance.

We had 3 reviewers try and test this Evlution Nutrition in blue raz flavour. They noted down its effectiveness, side effects and gave it a rating.

Let’s find out if ENGN lives up to its aims...

Packaging

This has got to be my favourite packaging for a pre-workout supplement. It is a black plastic tub with a hologram label stuck across.

It has three colours black, blue and white. The ‘EVL’ name and logo really stand out no matter how you hold the tub.

The tub seems to be made from cheapish plastic but that is forgotten when you see the hologram label.

The size of the tub is perfect for the serving size. It’s not overly big so would be very easy to store.

Ingredients

Creatine Monohydrate, Acidity Regulators (Citric Acid, Malic Acid, Calcium Carbonate), Beta-Alanine (as Carnosyn®), Betaine Anhydrous, Flavouring, Anti-Caking Agents (Silicon Dioxide, Calcium Silicate), Patented Creatine HCI, Choline Bitartrate, Caffeine Anhydrous, Sweeteners (Sucralose, Acesulfame Potassium), N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine, Stabilizer (Mannitol, Dicalcium Phosphate), Alpha-GPC, Vitamins (Niacinamide, Thiamin Mononitrate, Pyridoxide HCl, Folic Acid, Cyanocobalamin), Olive Leaf Extract (std. min. 40% Oleuropein), Colour (Brilliant Blue).

Suggested Use

Take 1 scoop with 236ml of cold water 15-30 minutes before training.  To avoid sleeplessness, do not take within 4 hours of sleep.

Taste and Mixability

Evlution Nutrition’s ENGN  got the right balance when it comes to sweetness and sourness with their blue raz flavour,  although the taste itself wasn’t particularly nice in my opinion. I managed to drink it all, but it took me a while as it suggests mixing it with 236ml of cold water.

It mixed well, eventually, but took a longer time to mix then some other preworkouts. After stirring vigorously for a few minutes it was ready.

My drink had little residue as well as a few little lumps of powder that didn’t mix. I found that whilst drinking this preworkout, if I continuously swirled the liquid in the glass it helped to minimise the residue.

The lumps, obviously, had a little effect on the texture. Luckily, there wasn’t many so I didn’t struggle to drink it in that sense.

Effectiveness

I waited 15 minutes before driving to the gym after this taking this supplement, it states to take it 15-30 minutes before training so by the time I got to the gym I was ready.

As I was doing my warm-up on the treadmill, I felt a slight energy boost and my focus increased.

That was all I felt during my workout, which personally I was disappointed with.

In terms of energy, I only had a slight boost and the same for focus.

When it came to performance, I would say it was no different to any other day when I’m not using a preworkout.

Side Effects

During my workout, I felt nauseous and It only got worse too.

I had to cut my workout short due to feeling like I was going to be sick at the gym.

As I got home, it continued and it took about an hour after to settle.

I didn’t feel any tingles or crash though.

I would give Evlution Nutrition ENGN a rating of 4/10.

Is EVL Pre-Workout Engine a good pre-workout?

As we can see, this supplement had a better effect on the other 2 reviewers. Neither of them experienced side effects.

That is why it is important to show how a supplement can have a different effect on a different individual.

Compared to the first reviewer, the last two did not higher energy levels and increased focus.

Their performance was better than usual because of this. That means, as a whole, EVL does help to meet its aims.
