Tomorrow is show time.

So after umming and ahhring for the past couple of weeks I have decided to run the marathon tomorrow!

It hasn’t been an easy decision and there have been many times where I’ve tried to talk myself out of it but I feel like it’s now or never –> if I don’t run Sunday, I don’t think I will ever run another one.

For one, I’m not actually meant to run. I’ve mentioned this a few times on the blog but I’ve got lordosis and sclerosis which means Running hurts –> my spine is curved so one of my hips gets shunted every single time I run and it I honestly don’t think it will cope with another 5 months of training.

I’m also at a different job which means training in the morning would be near on impossible. At my last job, I didn’t start until 9am and it was a 15 minute walk to work which meant I could easily get up at 6am, go for an hour and a half run and still make it to work on time. Now I start work at 8am and it’s a 45 minute drive which means I have to leave the house at 7am. In all honestly, I don’t love running enough to get up at 4am to go running –> it just won’t happen!

I’m also hopefully going to start my next lot of studies in September. I finished my AAT in November last year and so I knew I had a bit of time where I could just focus on training –> I wasn’t stressed from exams and I had my mornings free.

These might sound like excuses but for me, they’re the complete opposite. They are the reasons why I’m not going to give up and why I’ll be at that start line on Sunday –> and fingers crossed I’ll cross that finish line!

I’m super excited to see how it goes but I’m also really nervous –> there is a 6 hour time limit and as I’m not the fastest of runners at the best of times, I know this will be cutting it slightly close. However, I’m going to give it my best –> that’s all I can do!

To all the runners out there that are running half marathons and marathons tomorrow – good good good luck!! Let me know how you got on please

Also any recovery tips are more than welcome please!

Hopefully the next time I write a blog post it will be as a fully fledged marathoner!!
