You might be thinking I’m not exactly the person to talk about fitness clothes, but it’s so uncommon for a new brand to actually cater to plus size people from the start, especially the larger end of plus size, so I thought it needed to be celebrated and talked about! When I saw Well Fit Active and their impressive size range of 8-30 I was immediately interested, but not only for that reason. Well Fit Active also has a compression clothing range which has numerous health benefits, as well as a modest wear range including sports hijab. Everything is made to order, they’ve really thought of everything and ticked so many boxes straight away when it comes to inclusivity and sustainability which often takes other brands years to achieve, and some never get close. Well Fit Active Plus Size Activewear Size Range So often brands, especially fitness brands, just don’t bother with plus sizes or go up to a 22/24 max, but then they come up small so a true 22/24 can’t even fit in them. It’s ridiculous. Thankfully the plus-size activewear market has got a lot better over the years and it’s amazing to see this new addition of Well Fit Active sustainable activewear as an option! With an inclusive size range of Uk size 8-30 I couldn’t wait to get into it and see how the fit was! Now these days I’m more of a 26/28 up top and probably a 28-30 on my legs, at Well Fit Active the sizes go from 24-26 to 28-30 and because of the compression wear, also taking into consideration my chronic pain and how I usually do size up to get into things without breaking myself, I went for the size 28-30. The tops fit easily and I absolutely love the ‘secret cinch’ panel underneath them for extra support, coverage, and compression. It feels like a second skin when it’s on, really comfortable too which I found surprising! Getting the compression leggings on was a bit of a challenge but when they were on, wow! The support, the compression, the material, everything just felt amazing. It wasn’t like being squeezed, it just felt like an incredible second skin! There was still a lot of stretch in both too so I do think a true size 30 would fit in them. Well Fit Active Plus Size Compression Wear One of my friends a couple of months ago was looking for plus size compression wear and was telling me how hard it was to find, which is another reason I really wanted to shout about Well Fit Active! Every now and again someone pops up and asks if I have lipoedema and the honest answer is, I really don’t know! My legs have always been bigger and in more recent years with being my least active, they’ve gotten lumpy but they don’t hurt me so I haven’t really pursued anything with a doctor but it does mean I’ve looked into compression wear and how it can help. Well Fit Active compression range is made from a recycled nylon fabric and how it works is that it can help improve blood flow to the muscles. Great for athletes or people who need help reducing inflammation as it’ll help you to feel less sore after movement! Right now if you google plus size compression wear a £14 pair from a well-known fast fashion brand comes up, and just by looking at the excess fabric around the crotch area, you can tell these aren’t going to do anything. Proper plus-size compression wear will cost but after trying these I can honestly say the quality is really there! Well Fit Active Designs  Let’s get back to the actual design features in this wear because it isn’t just a simple top and leggings, there’s been a lot of thought into each and every piece as a slow fashion brand. Everything is hand-crafted in the UK to reduce waste and even any scrap material is repurposed! The Compression Leggings are made from recycled ocean plastic hi-tech compression fabric with a high waistband which means they’re not going anywhere! These will stay in place whilst you run, jump, squat, or whatever! They have pockets on either side however they’re lower down on your thigh so that your phone won’t dig into you during your workout. There’s also ample gusset space and flatlock seams so no need to worry about durability. One thing I noticed was that despite getting a bit hot whilst getting the leggings on, as soon as I was in I was cool! I get overheated very easily but the fabric was so breathable and is moisture-wicking too, I’ve said second skin a lot but that’s truly how comfortable I feel in them! There are other impressive features like how they provide protection against UV, are ultra-chlorine resistant, and are resistant to sun creams/oil, this is amazing for people who dress modestly as it means you could wear them swimming! Sarah Hall (the Founder of Well Fit Active) really has thought of everything! With the tops, they have a ‘secret cinch’ layer underneath that makes you feel super supported. On the website, it says that you can tuck this into your leggings to make sure when you jump you’re fully covered. The underarm panel has moisture-wicking fabric that draws sweat away from the body as well as a breathable back panel, I thought this was just a design feature but that’s super clever placement. You may have noticed the slight skirt on the bottom of the top and that’s just to make people feel more comfortable and have more coverage.
