Ways to Travel More

For many people, some kind of travelling is on their bucket list. We all have plans to see the world, get out and do things, experience new cultures and lifestyles, and drink deeply from all the world has to offer. As time goes on, however, we seem to slip into a rut. Instead of taking those vacations, touring those far-away locations, we sit at home as if the ordinary is all we deserve.

It’s time to shake off the doldrums and begin to travel, like you always said you would. It might not be as easy as calling your local travel agency, however. For many of us, the reasons we don’t travel are good ones. We don’t have the time or the Money. It’s not that we don’t want to travel. We just can’t seem to afford it. At the end of the month, when all the bills are paid, there’s not enough left to tour the world. So we stay home.

If you’re kept at home by money or time, be encouraged: there are ways to work around that. Time can be gained by making a deliberate effort to plan in advance. You might need to pull a few strings, call in a few favors–but for the most part, time is available if we plan it. Money, on the other hand, is always harder. If no vacation money is coming your way anytime soon, consider a few of these creative options for saving money at home. You can unsubscribe to a few streaming services and head to the library instead. You can pack lunches instead of eating out. Healthy is cheaper–if you cut out soda and snacks. You can spend a Saturday cooking some freezer meals instead of buying frozen foods and save at least a hundred dollars in grocery bills every month. While these ways might seem small, together they’ll give you over a thousand dollars a year in extra cash. That’s enough for one person to take an incredible trip. While it might be an uncomfortable thought–cutting most of your comfort food–it will be worth it in the long run.

Ways to save money on vacation are varied, too. Instead of heading to a tourist trap, escape for the weekend to a beautiful city a one-day drive away. Explore Henry County, GA or Door County, WI. You’ll save money by not spending tons of cash on flights or hotels, and you’ll get a relaxing slice of Americana. Getaways, like Welk Timeshares, too, are a great way to save money in the long run and ensure that you keep on getting away to somewhere magical.
The truth is, travel is in reach, if we only make an effort to do it. We tend to let pointless things, things that won’t matter at the end of our life, like TV and snacks, cut in the way of truly memorable experiences. Don’t let that be you–take time to explore.
