The Miami Dolphins could be looking for more secondary help in 2017.

What a weekend. The madness of the three-day NFL Draft is over and we can all calm down and start looking toward minicamps, training camp, preseason games, and, finally the regular season. It's time to look at the Miami Dolphins' rookie class, and start talking about real football things. It's time to.....wait....

Dan Kadar's 2017 NFL Mock Draft is here.

Yes, none of this will be right when next April gets here. Yes, the Draft order will be different. But, yes, it is still fun to look at who could be in the picture for the 2017 NFL Draft.

Kadar admits "These too early mock drafts are done mostly for fun and to set a baseline for the next crop of college football stars. They're even less accurate than the mock drafts done the week of the draft." And, he is right. This is a chance to see some names we may not yet know, but will get to know during the 2016 college football and in the build up for the 2017 Draft.

The draft order for Kadar's mock was based on the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook odds. The highlights of the mock draft includes three quarterbacks in the first ten picks, and four running backs in the first round. Where are the Dolphins looking in this way too early projection? At the same position most often mocked to Miami in the 2016 projections.

The draft starts with the Cleveland Browns, who own two picks in the top ten, their first round pick and the Philadelphia Eagles' ninth pick. They select Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson with the first pick, which is then followed by the San Francisco 49ers selecting Brad Kaaya, MIami quarterback with the second selection. The San Diego Chargers then pick Alabama outside linebacker Tim Williams with the third pick, with the Jacksonville Jaguars making it back-to-back Alabama players with the selection of offensive tackle Cam Robinson. The Tennessee Titans wrap up the top five picks with a selection of USC wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.

The sixth pick belongs to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Kadar's mock, where they pick Florida State offensive tackle Roderick Johnson. The New Orleans Saints use the seventh pick to add Drew Brees' heir apparent in Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly. The eighth pick belongs to the Detroit Lions, who use it on Ohio State linebacker Raekwon McMillan. The Browns then use the Eagles' ninth pick to add LSU running back Leonard Fournette.

The, with the tenth overall pick, the Miami Dolphins select Florida cornerback Jalen Tabor.

Kadar explains the pick, writing:

Drafting Xavien Howard in the second round was a need-based pick, but Tabor projects as a true No. 1 corner.

Tabor, 6-foot, 200 pounds, should be the top cornerback for the Gators in 2016 after being the 2015 starter opposite the drafted Vernon Hargreaves. He is only a junior this year, so he will have to declare a year early for the Draft.

It is not a bad pick for the Dolphins, especially this far out from the actual Draft. Even with the addition of Xavien Howard, cornerback could be considered one of the top needs for next year for Miami, at least until Byron Maxwell and Howard can prove they are capable of holding down the top two spots. Miami has struggled with adding cornerbacks in recent years, so projecting they continue to build the secondary is a solid place to guess Miami will be looking in April 2017.
