The Dolphins have locked up their Pro Bowl Defensive end.
The Miami Dolphins announced Saturday a new contract extension for Pro Bowl defensive end Cameron Wake. The new deal is expected to run through the 2018 season and could, potentially, lower his $7.6 million Salary Cap Number for the 2017 season.

Wake signed a new contract last May, when he reduced his salary cap number by $1.25 million, in exchange for $1.6 million in new guaranteed money.
After missing half the 2015 season with a torn Achilles tendon, Wake returned in 2016 to once again reach the Pro Bowl, the fifth time he has been selected for the all-star event. Miami started Wake slowly this past season, but he resumed his role as the starting defensive end after the team’s first five games. He finished the team with 11.5 sacks, along with 29 tackles, one interception, two passes defensed, and five forced fumbles.
For his career, Wake has 81.5 sacks, the second-most in franchise history and the most for any Dolphins player in his first eight seasons.
UPDATE: Wake’s new deal is for $19 million, according to Adam Schefter, though how much base salary/bonus is not yet broken down:
