Premier League rivals, Barcelona: 5 clubs who should sign £100k-a-week Arsenal star set for exit

After an incredible loan spell at Real Betis, Hector Bellerin is now reportedly keen to leave Arsenal at all costs this summer, and it’s pretty easy to see why.

The Spanish right-back enjoyed a sensational season in his homeland, playing a key role in Real Betis’ Copa del Rey triumph and quickly establishing himself as a cult hero for the club as they once again qualified for Europe.

With his future at Arsenal essentially non-existent, Bellerin is reportedly keen to have his £100k-a-week contract with the Gunners terminated in order to allow the right-back to leave north London this summer.

Whilst Real Betis are the obvious favourites to sign the defender, Bellerin’s performances have attracted more interest from across Europe, and here are five clubs who should target the fullback if he leaves Arsenal this summer.

Serie A has long been viewed as a potential destination for Bellerin, with the Arsenal star strongly linked to Inter Milan last summer before the Nerazzurri signed Denzel Dumfries, yet one side who are keen on the defender this summer is AS Roma.

According to reports, Jose Mourinho’s side are interested in Bellerin, and following Roma’s success last season in Europe and the club’s need for a right-back, the 26-year-old could be perfect should he leave Arsenal this summer.

Another club that has been linked with Bellerin for what feels like his entire career is FC Barcelona, with the Catalan giants the side where Arsenal signed the Spanish international during his teenage years.

Whilst Barcelona are yet to be linked with Bellerin this summer, Xavi Hernandez is reportedly looking at signing a new right-back with Sergino Dest set to depart the Nou Camp, and the Arsenal defender could be a cheap replacement for the La Liga side.

Just like with Roma, Juventus are another side who have been linked with a move to Bellerin this summer, with the Biancheri eager to improve their defensive options at fullback and to add some much-needed pace into the backline.

Given Juventus’ reputation, Bellerin could be very tempted to move to the Serie A giants if Massimiliano Allegri’s side can offer the Spaniard regular playing time, something that will be a deciding factor in which club the Arsenal defender joins during the transfer window.

Manchester United

Oh yeah, we’re going real crazy on this list.

Manchester United are a mess, there’s no two ways about it. And right-back is a position Erik Ten Hag looks eager to improve this summer, with the futures of both Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka up in the air. And if Bellerin leaves Arsenal, the Red Devils could be a destination.

Whether or not Bellerin wants to betray Arsenal and play for a Premier League rival is another question. But with United desperate for new right-backs and the Spaniard potentially available for free, it makes sense why this move could work on paper.

Real Betis

Given that Bellerin has essentially rejuvenated his career at Real Betis, it makes sense that the Andalusian club are on this list and are easily the strong favourites to land the Arsenal star should he leave north London for free this summer.

Under Manuel Pellegrini, Los Verdiblancos have enjoyed one of their most historic seasons in decades, and with the club again back in Europe, Bellerin will be keen to return to Seville with Betis and create more history with the historic Spanish side in the new campaign.
