Had a nice night with friends on Saturday night, we did Fam Night. We mostly spent time at the Coconut Grove Arts Festival Gallery and the Sonesta Hotel, which had beautiful work on display by artist Wesly Alvarez. His fine art took over the lobby of the hotel. Wesly, an art educator and Doral resident is the recipient of many prizes and awards. "Art should come from the secret place in all of us," he says.
There was a nice crowd there when we arrived; as has been the case with the Sonesta, there are hot hors d'oeuvres in chafing dishes and top grade champagne flowing all night.
It was a nice scene for last guests arriving at the hotel, as they checked in they saw all the activity, which was basically a high-end art show. Curtis Crider, hotel manager told me that, "It sets a nice vibe [when people arrive]."
The Sonesta has been part of Gallery Walk (FAM Night) for a few months now and the guests have increased as time has gone on.
