The incident comes as a surprise as it was decided that no private vehicles will be allowed near the convoy of the security forces when it transverses across the state of Jammu & Kashmir.
It is not clear as of now that whether it was a terrorist attack or an accident but security experts call it yet another security lapse in the troubled northern state.
“The explosion appears to have been caused by a gas cylinder inside the car but this is based on preliminary examination of the car’s wreckage,” a police officer said.
“There was no loss of life…The driver of the car, who was the lone occupant, appears to have escaped,” the officer said.
Further, investigations are on.
