16-year-old surrendered senior ends 2019 crying in his shelter cage

A 16-year-old senior surrendered to the Orange County Animal Services cried in his shelter cage. He ended 2019 with a home and began 2020 homeless; and there he cries.

“Friends of Orlando Shelter Pets Per the shelter: “Onix (A445264) was surrendered by his owner because they could not afford to care for him anymore. According to the previous owner he is house broken, leash trained, knows some obedience commands. Onix is friendly with women, men, and children; loves dogs and loves cats and he is heartworm negative.”

Everyone who has met Onix agrees he is a very sweet dog – very friendly and affectionate. Check out his video in the play yard:

16-YEAR-OLD OWNER SURRENDER CRYING:'( We just went to see this poor baby and posted him earlier. This is "ONIX" #A445264. He is the sweetest boy. He's very friendly and affectionate – loves other dogs and cats, according to his owners. He did great with his temp test with other male dog at shelter. He was rolling around on his back in the yard, asking for belly rubs, kissing us…..we take him back to his kennel and he will not stop crying. People have no idea how much this affects dogs being at the shelter. This sweet boy is ending 2019 and starting 2020 homeless. Can you share to help him find a rescue or loving home? We are devastated having to leave him there. We are trying our best to comfort him. Poor boy.*Photo and video of him in play yard in comments. Please share this dog’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. Onix didn’t ask to be at a shelter – be the voice for those who cannot speak.
