From À LA MODEST
I actually play the piano like a 6 year old—and I don’t mean a 6-year-old Beethoven. At least, however, I’ve got my nursery rhymes down!
Though I am a huge fan of Music and listen to it as often as possible in a day, music can be a source of inspiration and insecurity for me. Here are some quick thoughts from my personal experience. I will have you look into these in further detail on your own!
Music as inspiration:
- Can help uplift your mood just by listening or when accompanied with singing and dancing
- Can help bring people together with common musical taste (I loved how my husband looked for a wife specifically into rock music)
- Can trigger creativity in making music or other art forms
- Can increase intelligence, health, and wellbeing
- Can create and move things in their intended direction, literally and figuratively
Music as insecurity:
- Can cause sadness and aggression with its sound and lyrics
- Can contribute to prejudice against a person according to their musical selection
- Can make you close-minded and a slave to mind control
- Can make you sick, shallow, and stupid (especially if you’re into Katy Perry)
- Can destroy you, both literally and figuratively
In what ways does music inspire you or cause insecurity?
