For many, summer is synonymous with concerts and music festivals. Singing along to your favourite artists, drink in hand is one of the many pleasures that this season brings. But of course, everyone knows a good Festival experience includes dressing the part. You’ve got to be ready for all those envy-worthy Snapchats and Instagram posts, right? Not sure where to start? 1. COMFORTABLE SHOES

As much as it might be nice to rock out some killer heels to a regular concert, at a music festival, comfort is key. You’re going to be on your feet and dancing all day and all night long—so you’re going to need a pair of shoes that can last. If you’re going to a country festival, then look no further than your good ‘ol cowboy boots. They look great with jeans, shorts, cute summer dresses, and are the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. Not going to a country show? Try out some Birkenstocks or cute Native kicks. They’re light, comfortable, and will provide that support you need.

2. TURN ON THE HAT CHARM

Next up is a hat! Trust me, when you’re spending all day in the sun, you’re going to want to cover the noggin of yours. Opt for a light coloured and lightweight hat like a fedora, straw, or panama hat. They fit perfectly into the festival vibe and look great with almost anything. Alternatively, a great ball cap in a solid or printed colour.

3. SHOW ME THE SHADES

Feet and head are covered, now you’ve gotta rock some cool shades. You really can’t go wrong here—any kind will do. Mirrored sunglasses are super trendy right now and great for a festival look. Have an unusual shape or style sunglasses you’ve been dying to try? A festival in the best place to rock them out! Don’t be shy—give them a whirl!

4. CROSS-BODY MUST-HAVE

You’re most likely going to need to keep some essentials with you at all times throughout the festival—phone, money, maybe a small tube of sunscreen? So invest in a great cross-body purse. This will allow you to carry all the things you need, without having to worry about keeping a purse on your shoulder or carrying around a clutch. Plus—they’re dance pit approved!

5. ALWAYS ACCESSORIZE

My only other tip for taking your festival look to the next level is to find a way to bring out your personality. Whether it’s with a funky top or fun accessories, find a way to play a little with your outfit. This is your opportunity to try something a little different—cool fringe, metallics, off-the-shoulder, rompers—whatever you’ve been dying to try, try it!
