Two words, people. Fish and chips. OK, three words, vegetarian fish and chips.
Happy Monday! What to say about meal planning? I know I should do it, I know it’s helpful when it comes to staying in my point allotment, I know that it takes the guess-work and stress out of daily meal preparing, and yet I rarely do it.
And yes, I wrote a post about it. But I’m realizing that writing a post before I get started with the task or habit is the kiss of death for whatever it is I’m trying to accomplish.
It’s like my brain says, we did it! Because I wrote about it. It’s like reverse psychology almost. I tell my brain that we have to do something and it’s like, nope not doing it. But somehow I still feel like I did it, because I wrote about it. On second thought, I don’t think that’s how reverse psychology works.
Anyhoo, here’s what’s on the meal plan for this week (all ‘meat’ listed is a meat alternative):
Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner | Snacks
Monday | Overnight oats with soy milk, almonds, and bluberries | Salad with tofu, olives, chickpeas, and croutons | Italian sausage rolls | Fruit, egg whites, carrots |
7 pts | 10 pts | 5 pts | 0 pts | |
Tuesday | 3 Bantam stuffed bagels | Wild mushroom and herb pilaf with baked garbanzo beans | Tacos | Fruit, egg whites, carrots |
9 pts | 5 pts | 12 pts | 0 pts | |
Wednesday | Breakfast burrito with sausage, cheese, and eggs | Salad with tofu, olives, chickpeas, and croutons | Fish and chips | Fruit, egg whites, carrots |
4 pts | 10 pts | 8 pts | 0 pts | |
Thursday | Overnight oats with soy milk, almonds, and bluberries | Salad with tofu, olives, chickpeas, and croutons | Ramen with tofu, broccoli, and egg | Fruit, egg whites, carrots |
7 points | 10 pts | 6 pts | 0 pts
Friday | 3 Bantam stuffed bagels | Spanish rice pilaf with chorizo | Pizza with pesto and mozzarella cheese | Fruit, egg whites, carrots |
9 pts | 9 pts | 8 pts | 0 pts |
I already feel like I’m starting my day off right with a plan. Sometimes when I meal plan ahead of time, nothing ends up shaking out the way I planned. But I still feel good about the week and I still feel like I’ve got things in order.
Have you had Bantam stuffed bagels? They are insanely good. I often pack the plain cream cheese ones in Lorelai’s lunch.
I also have been reading a lot of English blogs recently which made me want to try fish and chips. I’ve never had it, since I’ve been a vegetarian for most of my life. Gardein makes fish filets, and I bought some steak fries. Vegetarian fish and chips! I have a feeling it’s going to be a disaster, but I’m trying it anyway.
What is the best classic fish and chips dipping sauce? I’ve seen conflicting answers online.
That’s all for this week’s meal plan! What’s for dinner at your house?
Have a great week!
