Web Series of the Week: New York Is Dead
This is my favorite new comedy web series of 2017. The hilarious first episode introduces us to Felix and Cathy (Matthew Wilkas, Jenn Harris), two broke New York City artists who are mistakenly hired by a woman (guest star Bebe Neuwirth) to kill her personal assistant - in exchange for lots of money, of course! The series reunites the engagingly talented Wilkas and Harris, who appeared together in the 2012 film, Gayby. Now they have created and written New York Is Dead, which features cameo appearances by Queer As Folk's Randy Harrison (who is also directing the show) and Gus Kenworthy (the Olympic freestyle skiing medalist and Wilkas' boyfriend). So if you like dark comedies, I think you will enjoy New York Is Dead.

After a long hiatus (since January 2016), this web series returns for a second season as a hunky young man (BJ Gruber) and his hot daddy neighbor (Jim Newman) become better acquainted. Gruber and Newman continue to have nice chemistry - and the series is definitely a clever way to promote the Daddyhunt App for gay, bi and curious Daddies and guys that love Daddies. Ladies of the Lake
Executive producers Michael Caruso and Kyle Lowder have adapted the 2015 novel by Ken Corday (Days of our Lives executive producer since 1986) into a dramatic web series that tells the story of four wealthy wives who want to murder their abusive husbands. The show features a cast of soap opera favorites including Martha Madison, Lilly Melgar, Marie Wilson, Arianne Zucker, Jessica Morris, Jillian Clare, Patrika Darbo, Wally Kurth, Ian Buchanan, Gordon Thomson, John-Paul Lavoisier, John Callahan and Mr. Lowder himself.
