New York Is Dead is a Web Series Worth Watching

Web Series of the Week: New York Is Dead
This is my favorite new comedy web series of 2017. The hilarious first episode introduces us to Felix and Cathy (Matthew Wilkas, Jenn Harris), two broke New York City artists who are mistakenly hired by a woman (guest star Bebe Neuwirth) to kill her personal assistant - in exchange for lots of money, of course! The series reunites the engagingly talented Wilkas and Harris, who appeared together in the 2012 film, Gayby. Now they have created and written New York Is Dead, which features cameo appearances by Queer As Folk's Randy Harrison (who is also directing the show) and Gus Kenworthy (the Olympic freestyle skiing medalist and Wilkas' boyfriend). So if you like dark comedies, I think you will enjoy New York Is Dead.

You can follow New York Is Dead on Facebook and Twitter.

PLEASE NOTE: The next Web Series Worth Watching will be on Sunday, May 28.

Other web series worth watching this week are:

Daddyhunt: The Serial
After a long hiatus (since January 2016), this web series returns for a second season as a hunky young man (BJ Gruber) and his hot daddy neighbor (Jim Newman) become better acquainted. Gruber and Newman continue to have nice chemistry - and the series is definitely a clever way to promote the Daddyhunt App for gay, bi and curious Daddies and guys that love Daddies. You can follow Daddyhunt: The Serial at www.daddyhuntapp.com and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Ladies of the Lake
Executive producers Michael Caruso and Kyle Lowder have adapted the 2015 novel by Ken Corday (Days of our Lives executive producer since 1986) into a dramatic web series that tells the story of four wealthy wives who want to murder their abusive husbands. The show features a cast of soap opera favorites including Martha Madison, Lilly Melgar, Marie Wilson, Arianne Zucker, Jessica Morris, Jillian Clare, Patrika Darbo, Wally Kurth, Ian Buchanan, Gordon Thomson, John-Paul Lavoisier, John Callahan and Mr. Lowder himself. Ladies of the Lake makes its debut on Amazon Prime on May 15. You can follow the series at www.ladiesofthelakeseries.com and on Twitter.

Spring Street
In the latest episodes of this engaging LBGTQ drama, Anna isn't too happy to see her brother's new student, Ricardo, who is unable to pay for his music lesson with money. To watch the first two episodes of Spring Street, go to www.springstreetseries.com. You can also follow the series on Facebook and Instagram.

Steam Room Stories
Evan Bonifant gets together in the steam room with Jesus (Ray Tezanos), the Easter Bunny (Jordan Jones) and the Tooth Fairy (Chris Boudreaux) in the latest episode of this sketch comedy. For more SRS, go to www.SteamRoomStories.com. And you can follow the series on Facebook and Twitter.

Steve Hayes: Tired Old Queen at the Movies
The fabulous film critic reviews the 1936 screwball comedy, Libeled Lady, starring Jean Harlow, William Powell, Myrna Loy and Spencer Tracy. For more TOQ, subscribe to his YouTube channel. You can also become a fan on Facebook and follow Steve on Twitter.
