What Is Hypnosis?

Tags: hypnosis

Hypnosis is when you bypass the conscious mind and implement selective thinking. Hypnosis is a natural brain state that most of us go into several times a month without realizing it. Have you ever daydreamed? Then, you have been in hypnosis. When you see a professional hypnotist, he/she guides you deeper as the suggestions then are more powerful and tend to be more permanent. Hypnosis was approved in 1958 by the American Medical Association. Hypnosis is very safe. Unlike what they show in the movies, in hypnosis you truly will not do what you would not do while you were awake. The increased suggestibility is useful for changing subconscious behaviors such as bruxism (teeth grinding which occurs while sleeping). Also, the hypnosis deals with subconscious habits involved in smoking and weight loss. What do you do when you want to lose weight, but you get inappropriate hunger?  See a Certified Hypnotist.  Hunger can be turned off with hypnosis.  I have had tremendous success with my weight loss clients.  Hypnosis is not sleep. There is being awake, being asleep and being hypnotized which is a different brain wave state. The term “hypnotic sleep” refers to a deep level of hypnosis. In the deep level, clients, or subjects may or may not consciously remember what was said to them. That, per se, is not an indication of depth – what is is the Arm Drop Test — dropping the client’s or subject’s arm and having it fall like a soaking wet dishrag indicates somnambulism, a deep state of hypnosis. No one has ever died directly from hypnosis or been stuck in it. If something happened to the hypnotist, you would realize that something is wrong in a couple of minutes and emerge on your own, or you would drift into a regular sleep in which case someone simply yelling your name would wake you up.
