FREE WHISKEY CHARGED GIG AND MASTERCLASS
With Slane Irish Whiskey and The Fitzgerald
To celebrate the launch of Slane Irish Whiskey coming to Manchester bars, Mancunians can get their hands on free tickets to a special whiskey-fuelled gig and masterclass at The Fitzgerald on Thursday, 13th July.
Those lucky enough to get their hands on free tickets can enjoy not one, but two free events at the cool, speakeasy-style cocktail bar on Stevenson Square in the Northern Quarter.
There’s a masterclass hosted by Slane’s brand ambassador Will Lynch, a whiskey tasting session along with live music from electro swing masters, The After Hours, who blend old and new with uber modern dance styles like ghetto funk and drum and bass with the sounds of the original dance craze: Swing baby!
There’s also free welcome cocktails on arrival and a special Slane Whiskey cocktail menu priced at £5 all night! Definitely a date for the diary…
Whiskey Masterclass, 6.30pm
Add to your whiskey knowledge at this interesting session from Slane Whiskey’s Brand Ambassador. Starting with a welcome whiskey cocktail (of course) – the session will cover the history of Irish Whiskey, Slane Castle and the Conyngham Family along with a whiskey tasting session and the chance to try some cocktails made by The Fitzgerald’s expert bartenders.
Slane Irish Whiskey is a smooth balance of the highest quality grain and malt Irish whiskies. The whiskey is enhanced by a signature triple casked blending method using virgin American oak, seasoned American whiskey and Oloroso sherry casks from Spain. The unique process of maturation gives Slane Irish Whiskey a more complex and robust flavour, while retaining that warm, Irish smoothness.

A Whiskey Fuelled Gig – with The After Hours, from 8pm
In true Irish-style, the volume will be cranked up from 8pm with live music from The After Hours, providing their eclectic mix of awesome choons, for a whiskey-fuelled gig from 8pm.
The After Hours, will be bringing the party with their direct and unpretentious approach to both swing jazz and live dance music. They’ll be playing two full sets of upbeat swing as well as quirky covers of popular songs such as Moloko’s Bring it back and Britney Spears Toxic, for an electric atmosphere.
Guests will be treated to a welcome drink on arrival, along with a special £5 whiskey cocktail menu running alongside The Fitzgerald’s amazing selection of quality cocktails, spirits and beers. And with Happy Hour running all night long, that means 2 for £10 cocktails until 1am! So expect great music, dancing and plenty of alcohol!
