Indigenous Guided Bush Food Trail

The Tjapukai parklands are only a 15 minute drive from Cairns and 10 minutes from Trinity Beach. Set in 25 acres at the edge of World Heritage listed rainforest, the park has two tranquil Storywaters lakes with an abundance of life including freshwater turtles, eels and a variety of fish species. ??A walk through the park can be arranged with a knowledgeable Indigenous guide, the journey takes about 1 hour as you gain an insight into native rainforest plants, their medicinal values and identifies traditional bush food sources. The walk finishes with a taste of native fruit jams, freshly cooked damper and billy tea.
