Cafes in Dublin 8

Tags: scones cafe food

Wednesdays are normally my working from home day – and as I’m shit at cooking I tend to pop to a local Cafe for a few hours to stock up on caffeine and nice food! The joys of living in town means I have a lot of choice which I have included below!

The Bretzel Bakery

Noshington

Right around the corner from our apartment I visited here a couple of times recently. The food is really nice (I got the chicken & chorizo ciabatta), the scones look huge and there is a great selection on the menu – especially at lunch. I didn’t stay very long due to poor wifi and I needed to be online. This cafe is always very busy and the place seems to be bustling at the weekends – along with their cafe in Harold’s Cross park.

Pupp

I couldn’t live any closer to here if I wanted to. It’s a great local spot and its full of dogs which is probably the most important aspect when picking somewhere for food. Its great during the week for coffee, but it would be great if they had scones and would make it my no1 local (my reviews of cafes are based purely on scones). The pancakes & french toast are unreal here though!

Bibi’s

The setting here is amazing – a beautiful victorian house on the tiny little back streets behind Clanbrassil Street. The best thing about here is the amazing selection of eggs (and their avocado toast). Its a bit more expensive than every where else around, but its worth it. Keeping up with my love of scones, they are terrible here

The Greenery on Lennox

This cute little cafe has been around for years and is a fantastic option for brunch in Dublin 8. Everyone on the menu is fantastic, I mostly go for the poached eggs, but will opt for the fry or burger when hungover and they don’t disappoint.

Bite of Life

This is right beside St. Patricks Cathedral and do both great coffee and sandwiches. Every time I have been there it has been packed, so have had food to take away. All sandwiches are made fresh in front of you and they have a large selection to suit everyone’s taste!
