Big Ben is an amazing, iconic structure, so of course it needs to be recreated with LEGOS. Four thousand brick LEGOS to be exact.
The landmark has been reproduced as a detailed LEGO Creator set. Standing at 60 cm tall, it also accurately depicts the clock tower’s many detailed facades. It has four adjustable dials, a removable roof with entry to the belfry, a detailed section of the Westminster Palace and adjoining Elizabeth Tower.
Described as a “tribute to the engineering and architecture of the real building”, the set is due for release later on July 1, and will cost £169.99 (246.65 U.S. dollars). It will also be available through LEGO’s online store and retail locations. This model is part of the Creator Expert line AKA teens and grownups that like to play with LEGOS.
The real Big Ben was first started on May 31st 1859, and the clock first rang from the 96-meter Elizabeth Tower on July 11th of the same year.
