Let’s see what’s in the June 2022 Simply Earth box!
Everything was shipped in a small brown box with a blue Simply Earth logo on top.
A peek inside!
An info card (printed on the back of one of the recipe cards) revealed June’s theme: “Nature’s Touch”. It listed this month’s featured oils, along with any included extras. It also provided a few safety tips for each oil/blend.
A note from Katie — recipe formulator & certified aromatherapist — revealed a bit more about this month’s theme.
June’s recipes provided clear instructions for whipping up the following:

- Beach Feet Sugar Scrub
A sheet of pre-printed stickers was also included for labeling your creations.

Simply Earth Sweet Orange Essential Oil
Sweet orange essential oil has a variety of benefits including promoting a good night’s sleep, supporting heart wellness, brightening skin, boosting your mood, aiding in cleaning, and more. — It also smells absolutely wonderful. 😉 This particular batch of oil was sourced in Italy from the peel of the orange.

Simply Earth Java Citronella Essential Oil
Most people only associate citronella with being a natural bug repellent (which is AWESOME), but it also has many other uses. This fresh/citrusy oil can also help support joint function, boost your energy, reduce negative emotions, aid in cleaning, reduce the appearance of breakouts, and more.
Simply Earth Ho Wood Essential Oil
Ho Wood (along with Ravintsara and Camphor essential oils) all come from the Cinnamomum camphora plant — a large evergreen tree that grows in Asia. Its properties are similar to the endangered rosewood tree, making it a great alternative to rosewood essential oil. Some of its many uses include promoting immunity, soothing the skin, supporting women’s wellness, calming anxiety, and reducing the appearance of breakouts.
Simply Earth Timber Essential Oil Blend
The only blend of June’s box, “Timber” contains a fragrant combination of cypress, cedarwood, sandalwood, patchouli, Peru balsam, and mandarin essential oils. Its slightly masculine vanilla/woodsy aroma makes it ideal for men’s DIY personal care products. It’s great for adding to shave butters, beard oils, body washes, and more.
Diffuser Jewelry Mini Kit
The little jewelry kit above included the materials needed to make a cute beaded diffuser bracelet. — It contained 25 wooden beads (both painted & unfinished/natural) and 40 inches of waxed hemp cord.
Simply Earth Body Oil Base
The body oil base above is used in two of this month’s recipes — Timber Beard Oil and Beach Feet Sugar Scrub. It contains a blend of jojoba oil, almond oil, camellia seed oil, meadowfoam oil, and castor oil.
Air Dry Clay
A small packet of orange air dry clay was provided to create a pendant for the Earthy Diffuser Necklace recipe. The clay is made of kaolin, aluminum oxide, water, and iron oxides.
Here are the recipes that I’ve made so far:
Woodland Diffuser Blend
Supplies needed: Timber Essential Oil Blend, Ho Wood Essential Oil, Orange Essential Oil and Citronella Essential Oil.
This “recipe” was incredibly easy and simply required me to fill my diffuser with water, then add the specified amount drops of each of the essential oils above. Once added, I switched on the diffuser and let the aroma fill the room.
Boho Diffuser Bracelet
Supplies needed: Wood beads, hemp cord, Orange Essential Oil, and Ho Wood Essential Oil.
This was another “recipe” (more of an activity) that simply required me to cut a piece of hemp cord to my desired length and string the wooden beads in a pattern of my choice. — Unlike beaded projects that I’ve gotten from other subscriptions, I’m happy to report that the beads slid easily onto the cord without any fraying or issues with poorly drilled holes. Bravo, Simply Earth! 😉
Here is my completed bracelet! — I’m actually going to use it in some sort of decorative way, though I still haven’t decided on the right spot for it yet. Oh — to use as a diffuser, you simply place a drop of oil onto each of the uncolored/natural beads and reapply as needed.
Timber Beard Oil
Supplies needed: Body oil base, Timber Essential Oil Blend, and sealable container.
The instructions suggested making this beard oil after you’ve made the Beach Feet Sugar Scrub, so that you can use the remaining oil/bottle to hold the beard oil. I opted to skip the scrub and just make a big ol’ batch of beard oil — so I added a lot more of the Timber oil than directed. That was actually the only step in this “recipe” and it couldn’t get any easier.
Once enough oil was added, I just swirled it around and slapped on the “Timber Beard Oil” sticker.
As you can see, we go through plenty of beard oil in this house. 😉
I also made the Nature’s Calm Roll-On, as well as the Earthy Diffuser Necklace pendant (which is still drying). 🙂
