What i learned from talking with Jim Rogers

This weekend i had the privilege of Talking with one of my favorite investors of all time, Jim Rogers.

In a few lines, i will share with you what i Learned, so you can move forward as well.

1-Don't follow others opinions. Come up with your own independent views. When he was younger, Jim used to listen to older people because he thought they were more experienced, and more intelligent. At a stage in your life you have to become independent. Develop your own ideas, commit to them and make sure you follow through

2-Always do your own due diligence and keep probing and testing your ideas against reality

3-The way to become successful is to love what you do. Even if you don't become successful, you will be happy, because you are doing what you love doing. It doesn't feel like work.

4-If you had to do 25 investments in your life, you would be very careful about your choices. See your life like this.

5-There are people that do well having other in their circle as a mastermind, and there are people that do well on their own. Find out what works best for you.

6-If you want the world to become better, you have to educate people so that they can share your vision. If you dream about a place where people are healthier, because everyone eats better, you have to do something about it. The way to do it, is by education. Educating people with better habits, will make it so.

Regarding his views on the Economy:

7-The Economy is not doing very well, but you can do very well if you stick to what you know and understand.

8-There are several bubbles forming in the tech space(no surprises here), in the football space and other areas.

9-Negative nominal interest rates is a ludicrous proposition and will not work.

As a final thought i asked him, what advice would you give to young people that are starting to make their path in the world:

"Love what you do, and always be independent, even if people make fun of you. Everyone that is successful love what they do."

Be great, nothing else pays.
