Government’s startup council criticised for being too Sydney-centric

[1] Earlier this week, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Treasurer Scott Morrison announced that the “expert fintech advisory council” will confer with the government on fintech issues.

[2] However, the federal government’s given bad press due to its primary focus on Sydney instead of the wider national ecosystem.

[3] Out of 12 members, only 1 council member is based outside of NSW, CoinJar co-founder Asher Tan.
