How to protect iPhone from hacking with the latest iOS update

In order to fix crucial Security threats in Iphone, iPad and iPod Touch, Apple recently released into the market a new iOS 10 version. The security loophole gave a way for hackers to take control of your smartphone due to flaws in the Safari app, Wi-Fi and the kernel.

You cannot afford to ignore the new iOS update, lest you risk losing control of your much loved iPhone, reports Forbes.

The iOS 10.2.1 is available to all Apple users worldwide and should be downloaded as soon as now. Once updated, you will fix critical patches and security threats.

Who are the targets?

If you are an iPhone 5 and later generation iPad or newer and the iPod Touch 6th, then you can be sure you have been included in the update.

It is not unusual to have a security fix in your operating system because each software comes along with its own set of glitches.

For this case, the iOS 10 fix is an important one because it eliminates the backdoor hackers had for taking control of your device.

Through its security updates webpage, Apple said that “An application may be able to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges.”

The unfortunate thing is that researchers are yet to uncover these flaws since they were used in the wild by cyber criminals, explains the multi-billion company.

Apple’s security experts theorized that the WebKit which is responsible for powering the Safari app had a leakage for allowing external code to run on any iPhone.

Some of the things external code could do if you don’t update include adding files, adding files or execution of any action.

Similarly, malware can be sent to record your conversation and then be sent to any person.

The new version of macOS includes a number of stability and security improvements.

There are expectations that the new update will do away with the battery life issue that most 2016 MacBook Pro owners had complained about.

Caution: double check to ensure you have a recent backup before making any device update.

How to update your iphone

Navigate to Settings > General > Software Update.

To make any backup, follow these steps:

Settings >> iCloud >> Backup then select Back Up Now.

Remember, take action now and before you regret it! Protect iPhone from hacking
