A Guide to Phuket's Spas

Phuket Spas

Phuket has long been one of the leading holiday destinations in Thailand and Asia, but today it is equally known as one of the most popular spa destinations in the world. An idyllic tropical island, Phuket offers a large number of spas and wellness resorts from luxury, top-end hotel spa resorts to affordable day spas and inexpensive message shops. The spa and health industry in Phuket has developed into a key part of this much loved paradise island, and today a vast amount of the luxury hotels here have a dedicated spa attached. Phuket has spa Treatments available to suit all budgets, from massage shops offering foot, hand, face, and full body massage service for a few hundred Baht, to month long pampering programmes in remote island hideaways.

While there are a high number of luxury spa resorts, spa and massage treatments here are notably cheaper than similar services in the west, which is a large part of the draw for many of the visiting tourists heading. However, the Phuket spa industry goes far beyond pampering and relaxation, with a number of spas now offering extensive holistic programmes, alternative and concept treatments (such as blood type specific treatments), and services aimed at treating both physical and mental ailments, aiming to improve long term health and shaping clients diet and fitness regimes.
As with all modern spas across Thailand, many of the best spas in Phuket are a marriage of age-old Traditional Thai Massage techniques and contemporary treatments, oils, and expertise. While the area has long targeted  Asian tourists and their close relationship with massage and wellness treatments, today the spas of Phuket are attracting more Western holidaymakers, who are becoming more and more aware of the benefits of such therapies and treatments.
