Awarded to the female founder of a business that demonstrates great potential for growth, the winner of the Brand of the Future award will receive a mentoring session with Chrissie Rucker OBE, Founder of The White Company:

  • Jamie Genevieve, VIEVE, from Scotland

Based in Scotland, Jamie’s talent and passion for make-up convinced her to train as a professional artist after leaving school. While studying, she gained essential experience working on counter for a luxury cosmetics brand; the interaction with customers and clients inspired such confidence and positivity, that her popularity, talent as a communicator and skills as an artist organically led her to start sharing her knowledge online. Jamie works closely with key international brand partners including NARS, GHD, Charlotte Tilbury and MAC. Her global success is often attributed to her talent, hard work, grounded nature and the mutual respect she shares with her loyal followers. VIEVE  launched in November 2020.  The brand’s name means ‘Full of Life’ and this ethos is at the core of all we do.  Beauty with personality that inspires everyone to express themselves with newfound confidence and ease. VIEVE is born from an innate passion for artistry and a deep understanding of the positive impact makeup can have. Created by expert makeup artist and beloved beauty digital creator, Jamie Genevieve, VIEVE is high performance, aspirational yet accessible.

  • Laura Rosenberger & Laura Riches, Laylo, from London

Laura Rosenberger and Laura Riches are co-founders of luxury boxed wine brand, Laylo (drinklaylo.com). Since launching in November 2020 Laylo has built a cult following of customers and critics who’ve discovered boxed wine is a smarter way to drink. Laura & Laura met at Naked Wines, the UK’s largest direct-to-consumer wine brand, where they were COO and Marketing Director, and both well and truly caught the wine bug.  With Laylo, they are redefining boxed wines by sourcing incredible wines and pairing them with boxes you’d be proud to have on your countertop. Boxed wines stay fresh for 6 weeks from opening (unlike bottles) which means they are perfect for enjoying just a glass. Plus, they are the sustainable option too.

  • Pip Durell, With Nothing Underneath, from London

Pip Durell is the Founder and CEO of WNU. A former Tatler Editor and Vogue Stylist, Pip saw the gap in the market while working at Vogue and knew there was a space for a well priced, high quality shirting brand for women. Pip lives in Battersea with her husband and dog, Aoife.  WNU was inspired by men’s tailoring, and perfectly adjusted for women, the button-downs had to be sustainably sourced and stand the test of time. WNU is all about simplicity – paired back, laid back, timeless, effortless shirts – just like the woman who wears them. Our shirts are not about trends or fleeting style moments, but about a wardrobe essential in which to live a life; using the best materials, processes and practices for us and our planet, while committing to building a socially responsible structure in which to do business. WNU is B Corp Certified.

Nineteen extraordinary women from across the country have been unveiled as the 2022 finalists in the UK’s leading programme for Female Entrepreneurs. Now in their 20th year, the everywoman Awards in association with BGF, celebrate female entrepreneurs from all walks of life, providing a platform for them to share their achievements, challenges, and stories of success. From the founders of multi-million-pound empires to those spearheading social enterprises for the greater good, this year’s finalists are the role models whose success will inspire future generations of female entrepreneurs. Selected from nearly a thousand entries, the finalists’ stories tell of success in the face of adversity, innovative ways to solve business challenges and an appetite for business growth.

The 2022 finalists span diverse industries – from pharmaceutical and medical businesses to spa chains and hair products, through to IT software and package design, from career coaching and construction machinery through to biodegradable wet wipes, early learning bibs and pregnancy activewear. The 2022 finalists were chosen by a judging panel comprising some of the UK’s top business figures including Daina Spedding (BGF), Chrissie Rucker OBE (The White Company), Panni Morshedi (Beauty Pie), Rosaleen Blair CBE (Alexander Mann Solutions), Sam Smith (previously FinnCap), Annoushka Ducas MBE (Annoushka Jewellery), Helen Pattinson (Montezuma’s Chocolate), Roni Savage (Jomas Associates) and Melissa Odabash MBE.

Female entrepreneurs face many complex challenges in setting up, growing, and sustaining their business. From gender stereotypes to a reduced access to finance, a range of barriers can prevent women’s businesses from thriving.

Women, on average, have 20% lower confidence than men in their capabilities to start a business and  those  who do  pursue businesses will  find  that  finance  remains  in  short  supply.[1] Research suggests  that  women  in  the  UK  launch  with,  on  average,  53%  less  capital  than  their  male counterparts and male entrepreneurs are 86% more likely to be funded by venture capital.[2] However, consistent with findings from past years, women are overall about 10% less likely to report a business closure than men.[3] These financial and confidence gaps mean that female entrepreneurs are an untapped pool of talent and potential that if addressed, could result in women starting and scaling  new businesses  at  the  same  rate  as  men  in  the  UK,  which in  turn  could contribute £250 billion to the British economy.[4] At a time when growth and innovation are of such importance to the UK’s future, it is economically short sighted to not unlock this potential.

This is why the everywoman Awards continue to play such an important part in British enterprise, with 76% of former Award winners agreeing that their everywoman Award has positively impacted their business and 63% saying it improved their personal and professional confidence.[5] The Awards are a platform and spotlight for incredible women in business to build their confidence and inspire the next generation of female entrepreneurs, whilst facilitating powerful introductions to business mentors, commercial relationships, and investors.

The award winners will be announced at a live ceremony on 8th December 2022 when the greatest female talent will once again unite to celebrate the achievements of these extraordinary women and their businesses.

Speaking about the finalists, Maxine Benson MBE, co-founder of everywoman comments: “For the past 20 years these awards have provided a platform to share the stories of hundreds of entrepreneurs; encouraging, emboldening, and empowering other women to follow suit. We hope their experiences will go onto inspire others and provide the motivation that will strengthen the backbone of the UK’s economy.”

Chrissie Rucker OBE, Founder of The White Company added: “The White Company is delighted to sponsor the Brand of the Future Award, recognising a female founder of a young brand that demonstrates great potential for growth. The White Company is now in its 28th year. What began as a small mail-order concept for beautifully designed, affordable home accessories (mainly in white) has become a hugely well-recognised and respected brand. Today, The White Company has grown into one of the most-established multi-channel retailers. I passionately believe in everywoman’s invaluable support of women in all aspects of business life, helping them to achieve their full potential. I am looking forward to hearing about all the inspirational finalists and winners of the everywoman Awards.”
